24 (turned 25 that year)

It was a field engineer job though, so I was out of town all the time

Crossed the 6-figures line at 24 but I lived in NYC. I was maxing out 401k but otherwise lived paycheck to paycheck due to cost of living and "city" lifestyle.

So yeah it's a great goal and I was proud of my accomplishment at the time, but wish I had made smarter spending choices sooner.

I hit it at 26 when I moved to NYC. Not much of a difference between $75 in Atlanta (or any other similar city) and $100 in NYC. I moved to Chicago recently and it is amazing how much further my $ goes here.

33. You're doing just fine if you live in a reasonably priced area.

I'll be 30 in a month and my current salary will put me over 100k for 2017. Was just under it for 2016.

Started off making 40k out of college in 2011 in the same industry.

I was 27 with bonuses, 28 salary. I was on the wave of young engineers in the oilfield when it was booming. A lot of raises in the first 4 years......I was very lucky. Luckily got one last one snuck in there in 2014 before heads rolled. Been stuck in the same spot since with absolutely no idea when I'll ever start seeing some increases again.

I have had some fortunate career breaks in the last few years. I hit it at about 26. I guess the next milestone is $200k.

Are we talking base salary only or including variable as well?

When RSUs and options come in play is when big time money starts becoming a reality.

27 years old.

I'm in the middle of a career change and 2017 is looking to be my worst year of my life financially wise although I have never been happier.

Awesome, most people in general will never sniff 100k annually. Money board and OT especially, different story.

Everybody on TD was making WELL over six figures by their mid twenties, despite Louisiana having a poor economy and a median household income of around 45K

Electrical drafting

It's definitely not a passion and I don't see myself here much longer. Just not sure where else to go that would hire me.

Wish there was a job help board on this site. Non trolling.

We found the jelly downvoter folks.

From Louisiana, but would have likely never hit 100K if I hadn't moved away to start my career.

There have been less than a 20 responses out of tens of thousands of TD users. A bunch of well to do white collar workers have extra time to post on TD...who would have thought?

I haven't hit it. I doubt that I will in my life. Which is okay in my book. My wife and I both work fulltime. We don't have kids and they aren't in the plan. My little side hustle supplemented me to the tune of about 20% of my gross in approximately 6 months of being open.

Even if we double with the side gig I won't be there by myself.

But we are quite comfortable. I think your expenses and your zip code impact the definition of whether or not you can live comfortably or even need to aspire to the $100K W-2 or 1099...JMO.

Congrats to all who are already there.
