30. Wait until you pay more in income taxes than you used to make. That's when the real fun begins.

I was aiming to hit that by 30, but I turn 29 this week and it doesn't look like I'll quite get there. There's a small chance, but not great. New goal is 32.

If you count per diem, I hit it at 28. If you don't count it, IDK. I'm hourly so I guess I could come close if we have a big turnaround next year (I'll be 30) or something.
Obviously the Per Diem was used to pay for an apartment where I was working so it doesn't mean I saved as much as if it was a different situation.

$100k is a great goal and congrats to everyone who has hit it.
The MTB is a couple standard deviations from the mean in the US so I expect many more have hit it (and at young ages) than is "normal".
For those who hit it when single with no kids, one could argue they have more discretionary income than a family of four making $250k.

True, plus those who have hit are more likely to respond.

One of the reasons why I finally decided to build an outdoor kitchen and entertainment area at my house. Very good advice!

Wondering if I'll ever get there.

Awesome, most people in general will never sniff 100k annually. Money board and OT especially, different story.

How many hours are y'all working?
Who makes over 100 for 40 or less?

It's an urgent goal of mine, but at the moment I have absolutely no career path to achieve it. I'm VERY far from making 100k. Really hope I figure something out soon.
I'm 24 and just trying to figure out a way to make $50k.

Looks like we got a jelly downvoter in our midst.

In today's dollars, I started at $120K right out of school at 25.

You're doing far better than most. I'm 26 and it doesn't feel like I'll ever get there.
I'll tell you what I tell all of the "kids" we bring in out of college. I'm 33 so I laugh at calling them kids but that's how it feels sometimes.
You need to have patience and if you see the right opportunity, don't be afraid to jump. Also, be willing to be mobile for the right opportunity.
I got a stupid undergrad from LSU, didn't know what to do, got a scholarship to a shitty school to get an MBA, came out of college in 2009 - in the WORST economy - and fell into my current field.
I was 26 and making $37,500 per year. At that point I was happy because I knew I wouldn't have to work at McDonalds, but I plateaued in the $50s for a couple of years and began to get frustrated. I took a chance and moved (twice across the county) to take promotions and I went from $50k to $85k to $150k with in a few years.
Just have patience, work hard, learn your craft, and wait for the right opportunity. Also, enjoy the ride. I wish I had. My now wife and I are both successful but we were probably having more fun when we made a combined $80k. We just didn't take the time to enjoy it. We had everything we needed. An apartment, friends, and enough money to get drunk with them on the weekends. Now we have a lot of responsibility.
Sorry for the rant. Just my two cents for those in their 20s.
