while i agree the pick 6s didn't help, but our defense still gave up 38 fricking points at home to this team... that's fricking unacceptable

Regardless of what your opinion about JJ is...JJ was at the helm for one of the worst offenses in the NCAA last year.

Was this all his fault? Certainly not. But he deserves some criticism for the untimely sacks- as does the line and the coaching/play calling.

He deserves some criticism for not understanding the Option (short side or not)- as does the coach trying to teach him to run it.

I agree that deriding JJ is not productive, but one can certainly point out areas for improvement in his game.

That being said, He is a far better athlete than I was, and likely far better than anyone criticizing him on this forum.

35... Lee had two returned for TDs and another that set up Georgia in the redzone. The D actually held them to a FG on that drive.

It's still shitty, but would have given us the W.

Ummmm, the pick 6s DIRECTLY decided the outcomes of both games. We lost by 9 to UGA and Lee gave them 14. We were tied with Bama at the end of the regulation and Lee gave them 7. That's not the defenses fault.

giving up 38 at home and a TD after every scoring drive we had is the defense's fault. no reason whatsoever an LSU defense should give up that many points at home. and i didnt address the BAMA game bc IMO that was the only game besides GA Tech that the defense showed up for. but UGA and Fl our D gave up many too many points, im strictly pointing at UGA though, the game was at home and yea Lee gave them 14 points, but the D gave them 38. No excuses for giving up that many points in a game

The thing that bothers me the most about the whole JJ v. JL debate is that the JJ supporters expect JJ to improve but they don't expect JL to improve.

If anyone watching the stinkin' spring game had no idea who the starter was and who the backup was beforehand, he would have guessed the starter was JL. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there was another pick 6, but that pass, though not perfect, went right through the receiver's hands. After that pick 6, JL was solid.

JJ, on the other hand, not so much.

I sure as hell hope JJ improves mightily over the summer from his pathetic spring game performance, and I wish people would give JL a chance. He may be playing a lot more than you think if JJ doesn't progress.

The bottom line is both QBs need to show improvement before September 4.

Not true, we expected him to improve and he threw ANOTHER pick six and didnt look great although it was better than JJ. Blame it on whoever, the point is it happened again and who is to say he wont continue doing it?

Jesus Christ. You're missing the entire point. Every post in this thread is about QBs not defense.

I'd love to see McElroy forcing passes to a receiver with a broken hand and a converted QB against the coverage of Peterson, Claiborne, Eugene, and Hatcher.

you're missing the point of my post, you took the UGA game and planted it directly on Lee for us losing, i defended Lee in that case and stated a case about the defense losing that game...

You said how can you defend the defense for giving up that many points, so I ask you, How can you defend Lee for giving up that many points?

But this thread is about QB PLAY. How hard is that to understand really? The defense in '08 is worthy of it own shitty thread. Lee's QB play DIRECTLY DECIDED THE OUTCOME OF THE UGA AND BAMA GAMES. There's really no argument for that. Go start a thread about our shitty defense to make yourself feel better.

I just wanted to chime in to see if Doc showed up yet.
