Amazing how quickly someone can ruin a good thread.

So who ruined this "good" thread?
The guy who brought JJ into it? Or me for pointing out the guy who brought JJ into it?

Because nobody else said jack squat to him about it.

Is it me or is this not a great NIKE ad? You have 3 NIKE "swooshes" visible. Not to mention his leg looks like a swoosh.

It is like he was holding the football for NIKE in the picture

I see 6

Jersey, pants, rt shoe, left shoe, ball, and maybe his socks. So 5.5.

I think you're being ridiculous and a poor judge of raw human emotion. I can't imagine what my emotions would be taking one to the house in tiger stadium. The kid is from australia and didn't play football till what 2 years ago. His emotions got the best of him. HE'S NEVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO SCORING A TD EVER.

You making this into the rant hates jj is f'ing dumb. If jj or any offensive player did something that got penalized for taunting we should be able to bitch about it b/c they've made big plays before and shouldn't let their emotions get the best of them.

This rule is as communist as Roger Goodell. There should be no reason to enforce that kind of penalty on a TD. I knew he was gonna get flagged when I saw it, and was like is up with this nazi rule???

Yep. What you said pretty much captures the sentiment of everyone on this board as well as the majority of Americans.

"But he's a punter"
"He was just emotional"
"He's from Australia"
"It was his first touchdown"
"It's a stupid rule"
"The ref's an idiot"

So nice to see such support for a Tiger player as opposed to the tried and true message board comments...such as:

"He's nothing but a thug"
"Take that taunting crap back to the hood"
"He's selfish and cost us a touchdown...Miles should bench his arse"
"Wow--he's just plain stupid"

Nice to see that this board has chosen this particular instance to take the higher ground and come to the player's defense.

Nice to see you two ripping apart a particularly enjoyable moment in LSU history for your own insecurities and paranoia. Just stop.

Offdacorner: I see your point but it is not completely valid. I am racist(not by choice) and I thought he was taunting. So your arguments are actually being directed at some who are not racist. I mean really just one guy started your rant but now you are bringing your argument from the "specific" to the "general" and are off base some I think, although you are hitting the nail on the head for some too.

Dude you're making assumptions about me. I could give two shits what you think. I was in the north endzone Saturday two rows from the field. I was lucky enough to have wings td and jj's jump pass td right infront of me. I laughed my arse off at uf for allowing those td's and were happy for both wing and jj. If any white or black offensive skill player does something stupid to get a taunting penalty to get a td erased of the scoreboard I'm going to call them an idiot.

I actually told two knuckle heads behind be who booed when jj went in on the 1st and goal before the jump pass td to shut up. It doesn't better what color you are. If you wear the purple and gold I'm a fan of you. Sorry you can't comprehend a teenager from australia losing his shite when there's 93,000 people screaming for him as he takes in the only td he'll ever score in his life

Your right. Im a racist bastard who wishes jj got what he deserves and was in prison right now. Here's my question to you. Have you ever scored a td in a big game in your life? Granted it probably being in highschool but when your that young it seems big.

Besides that I don't think jj would ever do something to get a taunting penalty called on him. That's not his personality in my opinion.

Referees don't look at the subjective...."he is from Australia and is a punter" stuff. It was all about "Perception". I thought he taunted the moment it happened. Agree to disagree. I did enjoy the play though greatly! (Although I enjoyed it less because of my perception of thinking he was taunting)

Yeah if he had held his arms longer than he did I'd agree with you. Now when you see it in super slow mo it looks like taunting but from where I was sitting in real time it seemed like he did it for less than a half sec.

Well your experience was a "Great" one and real for you being there and all. I wish I would have been there and mine might have been the same as yours! :) (There was a movie based on the wildly different perspectives of all the characters with Dennis Quaid.)

"I do think there's a large amount of disrespect in taunting and that's not what I'm about," Wing said Monday. "I've never been anywhere near an end zone before. I was so excited and the emotion got the better of me ... and I made a silly mistake."

He did what he did ...he was wrong.
The ref called it too tight, he was wrong as well.

I like that he acknowledges a mistake, we all make them.
I am not crazy about his not thinking that there is disrespect in taunting.
Taunting = Bad sportsmanship..he needs to rise above that.

..not to be confused with trash talk...which is now part of the game.

or... LSU got an early warning what it will be like playing @ Bama.

If LSU is lucky, they will learn from this and not let it happen to them again. I observe TM7 ranting at opponent receivers after every play. All it takes is one ref who doesnt like him, and bingo! personal foul, over 'nothing'.

I hope they all treat this as a wake up call.

When I first heard of this rule - the thing that popped into my mind was "it will be called for the first time in the LSU-AL game and it will cost us the win."

After I got thru screaming and yelling - I said = "ok, we have bee warned."
