quote:

"I do think there's a large amount of disrespect in taunting and that's not what I'm about," Wing said Monday. "I've never been anywhere near an end zone before. I was so excited and the emotion got the better of me ... and I made a silly mistake."

Talk about class.

It's sad he has to blame himself for a ref poorly interpreting a bad rule and throwing a flag on something only barely noticeable when not on slow motion replay.

The punter scored a touchdown in that game in my eyes and that will never change.

He scored a TD and it was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen in Tiger Stadium.

I dont care what the call was, I'm not going to forget it.

Oh btw, did yall see Brad Wing's TD run? Great call by Les! I don't know if I will ever see and LSU punter score from that distance in my whole life.

or... LSU got an early warning what it will be like playing @ Bama.

If LSU is lucky, they will learn from this and not let it happen to them again. I observe TM7 ranting at opponent receivers after every play. All it takes is one ref who doesnt like him, and bingo! personal foul, over 'nothing'.

I hope they all treat this as a wake up call.

No, I was right the first time. No correction needed.

What is worse is the explanation doled out by the Bama alumni err.. I mean the SEC Head official. This is worse than pussification of the sport - this is the inordinate vainglorius attempt by a ref who did it out of pure spite and/or to be a petty tyrant.

This got lost in the furor. He made an excellent decision with that play call and furthered the drive.

Classy of Wing to accept responsibility for it, even though it should have never been called. Bigger man than the ref who threw the flag and the idiot who said it wouldn't be called in a close game. WTF with that.

And yes, it'll always be the punter making the call and scoring a td!

He blames himself yet most of ESPN today said it is a stupid rule and he did nothing bad enough to remove the touchdown.

He should blame himslef. But, it was a great call y Les and by the coaches that saw the opening. Until the mental mistake, it was a great run by Wing.

Ancient history now. He has been almost a MVP this year
