To 10 year olds sure. He is no more recognizable than patrick Peterson or Tyrann.

The titel should be "Who is The Most Famous LSU Athlete Ever... in your era?

More people now know OBJ than Pete. Women and shite know OBJ due to social media. My wife watches 0 football but her and all her friends are aware of the blonde headed guy for the giants who always dances.

I'd say anyone under the age of 35 (male/female) knows who OBJ is. Yes, Peterson and Mathieu are popular. But OBJ has a bigger market than both of them.

This goes back to my argument that OBJ isn't recognized as an LSU athlete! Most casual football fans don't know where he went to college - believe it or not.

While he was good in college - he doesn't come close to having set any LSU receiving records. I'd argue that LF7, PP7, or TM7 are much more "recognizable LSU athlete's" because most people knew who they were while they were at LSU.

Exactly - and they have no clue that he went to LSU.

I just don't think you can pull a random person off the sidewalk, show them a picture of pistol and get a correct answer.

Older generations know who Pistol Pete is. He even had a movie made about his life: The Pistol

These things are generational, but I'd put Pistol Pete up there for being very famous outside of LSU.

It's Odell Beckham because of the social media area, the market that he plays in, and stuff like that

I don't know why this is so hard for you to fathom. Odell is one of the most famous current NFL players. He has worldwide fame. You should go look up videos of him in Germany, they were going nuts to see him.

He is without a doubt the most famous current professional athlete from LSU and only Shaq is definitively more famous overall.
