Now that's just a down right silly question. If LSU can get thru a total defensive rebuilding year with this year's schedule with two super close away SEC losses and a loss to Bama at their house after a first half of bad bounces then they will be more than capable competing for the Crystal Ball every single year... especially with Cam as our OC.

We can expect recruiting to stay in the top 5 from here on out which will definitely keep the Tigers in the hunt arse well.

I would love to see whatLes recod would look like if none of the underclasmen who grade outside the first round would stay o the team. It's almost like Les is fielding a team with players two and three years younger than his opponent's Coach does. That makes a huge difference in things like penalties, etc.

every year

I expect LSU to win the SEC at least every four years and therefore be in contention to win a NC more than that.

We've been as strong and consistent as any program in the nation.

We just have a few hurdles to overcome.

1) Occasional stubbornness of coaching staff (not preparing a backup QB, getting too conservative and allowing teams to hang around, being too predictable)

2) Finally figure out clock management

3) Find a way to get the SEC HQ out of Gumpville

Fix a few of these and we're golden! The clowns at the HQ affect the scheduling, officiating, and compliance just enough to put their darlings over the top. We need to inflict PAIN on them!

Yeah AJ looked like a deer in the headlights against Arkansas. Where do people come up with this stuff?

imo, when 100% of the jrs worth a damn on the team leave early every year we may never win another one. the team needs senior leadership and the team needs most of the junior stars to return. we compete in the SEC west and no other team loses ALL of their juniors but LSU. it is a disadvantage that can't be overcome. until other teams in the west start losing all of theirs we will continue to lose key games every year due to lack of seniors.

This.

We'll have the talent next year but it'll be raw/young/etc. It's a shame how many juniors we have on the O-line this year because 2015 lines up really well in most respects... but we'll probably be breaking in two new starters if not three (depending on Collins). The guys who will be starting will have experience, but 2015 would look sick if we had 4-5 guys returning like we do next year.

Every fricking year...

Look at Auburn this season, 0fer in tSEC last year, playing for it all this year.

And with this incoming influx of talent at the skill positions, 2014+ for sure.

As for all the underclassmen leaving for tNFL, what the frick are they supposed to do?

Let's not kid ourselves here, LSU is a NFL factory and that's why many of the kids come play here. This is a good thing people.

Once enough of our guys fail to make NFL rosters, it should balance itself it out in regards to poor decisions by a few of our past juniors who didn't make it.

In other words, it should work itself out.

At #15?? If that's the case, Podunk State competes for it too.

we compete for a NC every year, but could be in even better position next year. Good scrambling QB in Jennings, Good RB's with experienced o-line. WR talented but inexperienced. D will be better than it was this year.

How prepared was Mett for 2012? In all those blowout wins in 2011, how many times did Mett get some good snaps in? 1 game against Northwestern St is the answer.

I do give credit to whoever (Miles or Cam) had AJ coming in this season a little at a time. It was different than 2011 and all your pumping can't change that.

As to the OP, I really hope LSU has the chance to get into the playoffs this coming season. If not, 2015 looks to set up nicely. The teams needs leadership from the players and Miles needs to get them disciplined.

if we dont start retaining juniors - Never...JMHO

by the way, competing is not winning. We will compete often. Not sure when we get more hardware.

Look peeps, turnaround times nowadays are irevelant. Just look at fricking Auburn this year, after they went winless in tSEC just last year.

There is no such thing as 'building' a program nowadsys in college football.

Thus, the old days of LSU fans pointing to a particular year to win it all has kinda gone out the proverbial window.

Every single fricking year should be our target year...we recruit lights out and have every advantage a program should have...

i would think '15. i'd like to see some defensive progression next year and see a couple of skill guys emerge to replace beckham and landry. team should be pretty balanced heading into '15.

When we stop playing mercy and become ruthless in ourplay style. LSU is too laid back.
