Should be able to get in the final 4 playoff or be right there fighting for a spot at the end every 3 or 4 years.

Depends on the Jr.s that may leave. If the key ones come back we could win it all next year . Sucks that we seem to have to rebuild every year because of this .

Last year LSU had more early declarants who weren't drafted in the top 100 picks of the NFL draft than the entire rest of the SEC combined. It's one thing to deal with losing elite players, but other schools didn't have to replace every junior starter.

our guys are getting bad advice; real bad advice. if you aren't going to be drafted, why leave early? these guys need to return their sr season and up their chances of being drafted. i just don't see the advantage of leaving early and then not get drafted. it's a lose lose for that guy in that situation.

I expect us to win the title in '15.

With some luck, we can compete for the playoff next year.

You can't make any of these guys (juniors and red shirt sophomore) stay with a 4 million dollar signing bonus in their ear, they'd rather not be broke college kids anymore.. trust me, if they put 4 million in front of my nose.. it'd be game over for me too!

By 2016 if everyone doesn't leave their sophomore year!!

Dude, this! This seems to be more of a problem here than at most other places. Hell, Clowney stayed at SC. That would have never happened at LSU. We have people who appear to be marginal prospects leaving. I don't really see us having a real shot again until something changes in regard to this problem.

While I fully understand the frustration at juniors leaving, Clowney was a true sophomore after the 2012 season and was not eligible for the NFL Draft.

We do need to get some of these kids to stay, especially the ones that contribute a lot but don't project well in the NFL. Even keeping Simon and Faulk would have made a big difference this year.

That said, I think we can compete in 2014, if Jennings makes the kind of advancement that Mett did in the last year.

Metts gone with his freshman blaming, cement shoes ,3 pick first half-season killing. It'll turn around now, they'll start staying.

The SEC will be down again Next year and with Bama replacing the QB.... Its there for the taking.......
Sara Jessica Parker gave way to Greg McElroy who gave way to McCarron. No change. Why do you expect things will be different in 2014? They just plug in whomever is next in line and it works because of superior offensive line coaching and talent.

Auburn aint goin nowhere either. They steadily improved all season and look where they are now.

On the other hand, LSU regressed as the season wore on, played a great game against A + M, then didn't show up against Arkansas and needed that JennSwag/Pocic induced miracle just to beat a very bad Razorback team. Nothing but mediocre coaching, preperation and motivation resonsible for that. All of you Pumper clowns need to wake up and smell the roses.

Lester better do something about the OL and DB situation at LSU from both a coaching and recruiting point of view or it's gonna be SEC West 3 for a long time.

When did this shite take root? Most draft eligible players who are worth a damn leave. Is this somehow new?

How do people fashion these "new" ideas out of thin air?

Seeing as Bama is the only team that comes close to doing this, you are

So, you want to go back to pitiful recruiting?

We could be in the playoff every year for 10 years and our fans would bitch that we didn't win it every year. You can give up the fight on trying to reason with them.

WOW. The fact that this hasn't been downvoted yet makes me want to hurt everybody in this thread

It has only been very recently, like last year, where a lot of juniors left and now idiots have gotten it into their heads that it has been happening forever.

Logan, Bennie, Montgomery, Mingo, Minter, were all here four years. Taylor, Brooks, Edwards, all seniors. All had great impact in their final years. I really don't think both freak and Ego go and maybe neither goes.
