How would cam feel about being passed over as HC though and then working under Wilson? Seems like a strange situation as Cam certainly IMO has a more "HC-worthy" resume.

If Miles unexpectedly went to Michigan, Cam would likely go with him IMO

If Les brought his whole staff with him, Michigan would win the Big 10 within 3 years.

No teef Gizzek. The rant would burn Tiger Stadium down.

Hell, with the way Hoke has recruited, I think they'd win the Big10 in year1, at worst 10-2 or 11-1

If you're interested, Michigan fans have been discussing Miles in the context of Hoke getting canned:

That thread is actually what got me thinking about the unlikely scenario of miles leaving.

Reading now. I hope we keep Les, but if we don't I want to lose him this year, rather than holding on to him for another two or three and missing a Dantonio.

I'd go all out for Fisher with his already-established LSU and recruiting ties, and first-hand knowledge of this league, offensive philosophy, etc, but if we threw the kitchen sink at him and he didn't bite, then i'd be perfectly ok with Dantonio or MoraJr....I really really really like Shaw, and think he's probably better than all of them, but I have some reservations about him coming into a different culture than Stanford, academically geographically, culturally, etc....could be a flop in the SEC having to learn On the fly a totally different recruiting process.

Gary Patterson is another name that would inevitably come up, but I've never been that excited about the thought of him at LSU...he is not the right guy IMO.

This is why Frank Wilson is so important. To me it's vital that he stays when Les goes. Shaw as HC with Wilson as the recruiting coordinator could be good.

If we had to have a coaching search at the end of the season "we" (the rant) would have a bunch of posts like this:

"alright, I wasn't planning on saying anything but I feel safe enough now after the latest news has come out to say that my cousin works in the athletic admin office and about 4 weeks ago there was a meeting held between Joe Alleva, Les Miles, and various members of TAF to discuss potential replacements for Les in the event of his departure - this is a fact as nothing has come out against this yet. A few other guests were in and out of the building in the following days all driving nice rental vehicles. I traced these vehicles back to Hertz at the airport, where, as it turns out my sister works as Assistant to the Manager. She said they had an awful lot of "high profile" type people coming in lately, but she's not a football fan so she has no idea. I asked her to look up the names of the transactions and she replied back with 'Gruden, Briles, Harbaugh, Payton, Saban, Meyer, Ditka, Bryant, Lombardi, Rockne, Paterno, and Bellicheck'. Take that fwiw."

Pump the brakes JP! Les isn't going anywhere, it would be career suicide! Not a chance of him leaving.

Miles might need his agent to leak a rumor to boost Les' salary.

So, you need help fantasizing about all this? I say we hire a new coach...who at this point in time has no bearing on the situation you have created...So, go back to sleep and finish your dream, and then maybe CLM will change his mind and stay a few more years...

While I definitely would not enjoy Miles leaving as most coaching searches at most programs end in disaster, right now as it's totally speculation and not-gonna-happen "stress free" fun talk I admit I enjoy the discussion between fans about who would and would not be a good fit at LSU.

I'm a coaching changes junkie anyway, even when it's not LSU...when LSU is potentially involved, it certainly takes it to another level of intrigue/curiosity/fun.

On the way home from LSU-Wisconsin in the car, me and my friend were bored and after talking about Miles huffPost letter to BR we went through all the Power5 conference coaches and picked out the ones that might be on our personal LSU wish list in the future if miles were to retire.
