What would we do if Miles left/retired after this season?

First of all, let me say that I'm VERY pleased with the state of our program and I have zero desire to change the status quo, as LSU is certainly a legit title contender these next few seasons under Miles' leadership with our current talent and top-notch coaching staff assembled by Miles. We're the winningest program in the SEC since 2005, of course none of us want change with the rock solid program we currently have smooth-sailing under Miles.

That said, the developing situations at Michigan and with the Dallas Cowboys definitely have me keeping an eye on the rest of their seasons as I believe those are the only two jobs in America that Miles would leave LSU for. And if it were to come to fruition, and Hoke does get fired, I think Michigan fans will get their wish this time (Harbaugh or Miles) whereas the past 2 times their ADs and Lloyd Carr had their guy picked out from the get-go against the wishes of the fans. My personal opinion is Miles was not offered the last two times, and he would have and will take the Michigan job in a heartbeat if ever offered (and I couldn't really blame the guy either, being his alma mater that he obviously loves and respects).

My question, give me your top3-4 choices, in order of preference, to replace Miles IF he were to leave/retire after this season. Also give me a couple "realistic" candidates that you Absolutely would NOT want to get the job. Let's hope we don't even have to worry about a coaching search anytime soon, nonetheless if it were to happen, Who are your wants and DoNotWants?

My top4: (after you make the no-chance pipedream guys - Harbaugh Caroll and Saban - tell you No)
1. Jimbo Fisher
2. David Shaw
3. Greg Schiano
3. Jim Mora Jr

Absolutely DO NOT want:
-Bo Pelini
-Dabo Swinney
-Kirby Smart
-any OC or DC

At this point, Miles isn't going anywhere, so the question is moot. I think he finishes out his career here.

I know I know, I'm just personally concerned given that we're set and I absolutely want Nothing screwing that up.

Of course he's probably not going anywhere, but this topic is more about in the slim minuscule chance that he does, who do we want??

You could just search and read some of the many other threads that have made on this subject.

Trade the ACC for the SEC AFTER winning a NC? Come on man

It's posts like these that make me realize when the next coaching search happens for whatever reason, it's going to be a shite show with so many people convinced LSU can just snap their fingers and make awesome coaches come running

I was reading the Michigan boards after their notre dame embarrassment, and my feel is barring a win over both OhioSt and MichSt, Hoke is about to be shown the door after this season or possibly before.

why would Les want to leave what is going to be a total juggernaut in 2015 and 2016?

to go that political snakepit up in Michigan where he'd have to rebuild a program?

or have to put up with Jerrah?

I love Cam. Argument can be made he is the smartest, most experienced OC in the country. Cam has injected energy in our already-elite program and the cam-Chavis combo is second to no other coordinator combo.

I'm not sold on Cam being our next HC though.

if Miles is Jerry's first choice, Les can probably get $8-9 MILL year out of that dumbass.

I strongly suggest not worrying about things that are completely out of your control brother
