#1 Needs a better scheme and more consistent carries instead of rotating so much during a single series. This could be said of all the RBs. I'm OK with a rotation, but not as sporadic.

#2 He seems to find solid contact with defenders and isn't able to break away from it rather than anticipating the contact and leveraging away from it.

#3 He needs to work on his timing and vision. He has missed some holes on stretch plays because he's trying to outrun everybody to a point instead of stretch the defense and make a hard cut and run to daylight.

Overall a young, talented back who hasn't been given enough opportunity to learn how/where to run against each opponent's weaknesses because he only gets 9 carries. So he runs with a cookie cutter style of how the play is designed and is not as instinctual as I think he should be. This leads him to run into defenders who are in proper position rather than feel/see the seems in the defense.

He will continue to improve If given more consistent touches and if ever given a competent game plan for success.

He lacks experience, but he will be fine. Our offensive system does not help though.

Didn't Magee and Hilliard admit that LF is better? It's obvious that LF has that extra gear that both the seniors don't have. It's not his fault our line is trash and the blocking scheme is just a pile of bodies. You do realize he can do more than just run right? Where were the flare routes or wheel routes that LF is capable of doing?

Why isn't it the coaching? Why does it always have to be goal line formations to punch it in? Who the frick runs speed sweeps with slow running sick bruisers like Magee and Hilliard? Fullback dive fullback dive fullback dive.

Coaching reflects his production. Adrian Peterson won't get shite with offensive philosophy. LF would generate godlike numbers running out of the spread.

If you watch closely, when any of the backs has a good run , they take him out, put another 1 in. So he has no chance

Not given an opportunity to show what he can really do. Teams do not respect Jennings, so they put more people in the box than our offensive line can block. On top of that, our playcalling is uncreative and predictable at best. He no longer has Brother Martin lined up on the other side of the LOS to stop him, so things are more difficult for him.

Overhyped by the media and LSU, which caused many to believe, in his freshman year, he was going run like Adrian Peterson. May be a great RB as time passes, but still suffering from inexperience.

I really like that other freshman back from New Orleans. They will both be good.

Not what I expected based on hype. Rather have him at LSU than not, but I DO NOT see a Heismsn Trophy in his future. Hill was far better at finding the open field.

LF's best play so carcass his score against ULM. Other than that, nothing spectacular.

OL not helping that's for sure.

Russel Sheppard was not all hype just utilized wrong in the offense as LSU often does with athletes

Could so many experienced evaluators of HS football talent have been wrong about him? Maybe he didn't deserve a 5* rating. Maybe he was just a man among boys and now that he's at the next level, his true abilities have been revealed. After 4 games, he does not appear to have the vision, initial burst or even the power that would've justified giving him a 5* rating.

Did not get enough touches last night. The times that he touched the ball, while rushing, he looked good.

But 7 carries is simply not enough.

Malachi is going to be a very good one.

By "tentative" do you mean hesitant?

My biggest disappointment? And I admit this may be based on my unrealistic expectations.

He runs a 4.3 forty. That's speed an NFL wide receiver would envy.

I figured he could cut it up to the outside and take the corner like a greyhound, and with his size along with his speed, be a menace.

He looks very ordinary on sweeps and is many times run down from behind.

Tentatively looking for holes? Maybe.

For LF, forty-time does not translate into on-field speed?

That's what I'm afraid of.

Yes, Cecil Collins jumped right in and looked like a man among boys in the SEC. I guess I expected the same from Leonard. And that's my fault, not his.

But overall grade so far? C+.

I hope he continues to develop, but he's going to need more carries.

Miles is using him wrong. When he bounces outside, he's getting caught by the pursuing LB's and safety, but when he runs of tackle behind even a semi decent push by the O-line he gets pretty good yardage... also, he needs to be used more as a receiver, he's got good hands and speed But not on screens because the O-line actually slows him down.
