TCU has a good pitching staff and I really think LSU was overconfident. COY holds ace out of first game bites him in arse hard. Lange will get CSF now instead of Vandy.

We've had a lot of high hit, low score games. I'd rather clutch than for average. Of course, we're getting neither now.

We are facing better pitching, but frick we won the SEC regular season title and had the top hitting team in the SEC. 8 guys over .300.

I don't know what it is, but it seems like all of Mainieri's teams (besides 09) always seem to slump during the postseason.

I really love the AC hire, and would love to say fire Javi, but we know who the common denominator is here. And I am not a Mainieri hater either. Not a lover, not a hater. I've been satisfied with him, but these last 5 years have been very hard in postseason up to this point.

Poor hitting approach. Swinging at strikes on the corner early at the count. Swinging at curveballs with less than 2 strikes. Trying to pull outside pitches. This has been going on for a month.

This.

These opposing teams have scouted our hitters and know how and what to pitch to them in the count.

Dead on. This team has been trying to pull outside pitches. And watching first pitch fastball down the middle only to swing at offspeed in the dirt.

We've been slumping for a looong time now. Anyone who thought we'd come out bashing the ball is in denial.

Anyone who really followed the team this season knows we have been sliding for a while; unfortunately, the same thing happened this season to the softball team too. We peaked too early...just happens...

Seems to me the last few LSU teams goal was to make it to the CWS .... After that they seem to forget what they are there for....

The prevailing wisdom on the rant was to FIRE JAVI. That will fix it. Wait, we already did that. What a bunch of pussies. We were cruising until Poche went brain dead and couldn't convert routine ground balls into outs. I feel bad for him. I hope he can come back and help this team get back into contention.

Alan Dunn has done very well with our pitching staff-great hire.
Now for a hitting coach. You MUST hit good pitching well in order to win. What you hit against the weaker pitching doesn't mean a whole bunch.
All of the hits back to the pitcher were weak hits-not hard hit balls. This team's batting is not coming back any time soon.

These opposing teams and COACHES have watched film and call the pitches their pitchers CAN throw.

How much film has Coaches Pulmonary and Done watched ?

The real question is what did florida figure out when they played us in the sec tourney? It seems like teams since that game have mimicked their pitching approach and lsu has been unable to come up with an answer. Lsu was worlds better than usl but rob. had scouted lsu well. They even shifted and took away hits up the middle from laird simply due to scouting.

What happened was Poche shite the bed on routine plays and we never recovered mentally

What's more troubling about that is the fact that he was heavily lauded for having the ability to shake things off.

Good question, but, I think you're right.

I think teams are studying that Florida vs LSU game.

Jesus people, yall are acting like we are hot garbage. I guess we just "slumped" our way to a SECC and into the CWS.
