What has happened to the offense?

First third of the season this was the scariest lineup in the country
Now, not so much

I don't think these people hitting it back to the pitcher every time we're ever very good hitters.

What happened was Poche shite the bed on routine plays and we never recovered mentally

Fool's gold. Our offense is a shell of former teams. A shell.
Rios would give this team power.

It's called we have ran into better pitching.

We've been slumping for a looong time now. Anyone who thought we'd come out bashing the ball is in denial.

We don't hit good pitching... We haven't hit good pitching for about 5 seasons. That's what happened.

You face much better pitching in the back part of the year. The fact is we do not hit good pitching very well.

Hitting is definitely not there.

We went against one of the elite SPs in all of college baseball, so I'm actually pleasantly surprised we were able to end up with 3 runs (I know they took him out pretty early in his pitch count). We actually looked better today at the plate than we did all postseason and Bregman got a couple of hits.

True, but even the guy fro Lehigh held us down for a good portion of that game.

You'd be crazy not to pitch to them

Good pitching. We do great once we get past the starter.

I understand we are facing better pitching later in the season
But shouldn't we also be getting better at the plate with more ABs? Unless this offense really isn't any good and early success was indeed fool's gold

They're in trouble then; none of these teams made it with mediocre pitching.
They faced that in the regional and super. And still didn't hit well. Guess they're screwed.

Bro we're hitting it hard! Just right at people ya know

Yeah, lots of stingers at the pitcher.

I'd make dramatic changes in the lineup. I'd move Bregman to the 9 spot, or lead-off. And I'd reward the homer with a cleanup spot.

Exactly why I said the true colors of this team showed up against Florida in the SEC tourney.

Nothing happened to the offense.
They were never that good to begin with.
