Well, he will be asked very quickly whether he hit Lowery with his feet or hands. At that point it becomes an issue of doctor statements and x-rays
Meaning the GJ will say there is enough to take it to trial. They don't decide these sorts of things, the actual court proceeding will.

And didn't this guy say that he didn't kick him in the head? (I guess that would be technically true if he hit him in the neck or ear... it is what it is.)
I'm not a doctor or anything, but isn't an ear part of the head?

Depends... are you a lawyer?

It may take some more time to get the actual "decision". Today is just the day that JJ will testify.
Every story that I've read today reads that the DA expects a decision today.

this.
plus from what I was told there are other wittnesses to be questioned.
This thing will be lucky to come to and 3 weds from now, much less today.
"East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore III said the jury will continue hearing witnesses and taking evidence as it did Aug. 21, beginning at 9 a.m., and should finish the proceedings around midday.
At the conclusion, it will read its decision on the status of the charges to a judge in open court.
Moore said the options are that the jury could confirm the second-degree battery charges, lessen them to simple battery, dismiss the charges or return a pretermit, which would send the matter back to Moore's office.
"Prosecutors said last week, they expected the grand jury to make a decision sometime today".
Decision's coming today.

And here is the elephant in the room
Remember Mett having to go before the faculty committee on his misdemeanor charges. I think the JJs will have to wait for the committee review. This is out of Miles hands for now

Both players are also subject to suspension or expulsion by the LSU Dean of Students office.
"The Code of Conduct focuses on the behavior and is not restricted to something being at a felony or a misdemeanor level," LSU Dean of Students Kathleen White said. She also specified a portion of the Code of Conduct that says, "The University has the legal right to deny membership to those applicants who do not meet established standards for academic and personal conduct and to impose sanctions on students who are found in violation of these standards. The rules of evidence applicable to civil and criminal cases shall not apply to University conduct proceedings."

A decision that may or may not determine JJ's status with team.

Not hardly. Technicalities are a bitch huh? Nevertheless, assuming you can't hit someone in the ear without causing damage to the head(excluding thumping and blowdarts) which it's attached to, I doubt that point would hold up in court.

Jlee's play the past month has put a tremendous strain on the team sweep.
Arent near the proud bunch they were 4-5 weeks ago.

More of a reply to those who expect to know whether or not JJ will be reinstated today.
The only way we know for sure is if the charges are dropped completely- it would be safe to assume he will be reinstated, but I wouldn't think that is the most likely of all the scenarios.
