Cam now has a full game on tape of AJ going up against a good defense. It's actually a good start to the offseason, if you ask me.

AJ has the talent, but lacks experience. I will hold judgement until he downs the ball on 4th down with 10 seconds to go....wait...what.

Yeah, he didn't have a very good game. Doesn't mean he's no good.

The competition in the spring will be wide open again, it isn't going to automatically go to Jennings.

All of the candidates having to work hard to win the job is a good thing, IMHO.

The game reminded me of when jj was here, but the positive of this is cam has 9 months to work on who ever is our next qb.

Under the circumstances and given the situation, Jennings did well yesterday.

The problem is that some are holding him to the same typical standards as Mett on a dry field in Tiger Stadium with 3 years' experience under his belt.

Anybody that expected that type of performance out of Jennings yesterday needs to look in the mirror and ask themselves who the real idiot is.

This thread has been written about every QB that played for LSU since the rant has been around...the same couch potatoes spewing the same crap over and over...just dumb.

It's all Jennings fault. He should have played like a freshman backup, who had very few real snaps under his belt, in the Arkansas game.

To me, it shows how pressure to meet expectations, can be debilitating. None for the Ark game. Tremendous for the Iowa game.

Coaches knew, many fans didn't. Re: "Six Heismans"

Looked like a freshman making his first start and on the road in wet conditions.

I think he'll get better. We've all seen what he's capable of so I'm not really worried.

Play by play list, go count em, sacks are passing plays in my book

Russian, "officially" maybe it wasn't, but same result

So you count a sack as a passing attempt? You charge him with a pick 6 that never happened? Changing the rules again? In other words you are attempting to shed the worst light possible on his performance. Am I right?

He's not the "plug and play" that some thought.

whoever thought a true freshman starting his first game in a bowl game was "plug and play" for a 5th year senior that is a top 5 QB in the upcoming draft needs to quit watching football and start helping their wife/girlfriend work on her Pinterest collection.

It was an interception back to the 3 yard line. We were up by 14 and he didn't just overthrow the TE by a couple yards, he air mailed it by 15 yards. Terrible pass. shite happens but complaining about people characterizing his play as a pick 6 when technically it wasn't is stupid.

Pass sucked big time. After that Jennings went into a shell and yes, we did try to run some other plays for him. He had the scared eyes.

Is this the end of the world? Know. He can improve and probably will. He has a nice release, can run the ball and can check off receivers but the game yesterday was really bad QB play. We win by 17-24 on cruise control with decent QB play. As good as Hill ran, go back and look at the game. He was running like an All Pro NFL back. Hill is a real stud. Small holes and he turns them into 25 yard gains. Plays normally stuffed at the line of scrimmage he gets huge chunks of yardage and our defense played pretty well. Punting was decent also.

We punted 10 times. Its not like the offense was clicking.

Not the end of the world but we do need major improvement before next Fall out of the QB play

I thought he did GOOD. I thought he did well enough and I thought he was competent. He will improve, they will all improve

I would say it was more of a bad day in the passing game. "Really bad QB play" includes botched handoffs, bad timeouts, false starts, etc.

He didn't play very well, even for a true freshman making his first start in bad conditions against a top 10 defense away from home. Especially after the int, he didn't seem like he was willing to pull the trigger on some of those plays.

However, those who think the sky is falling and that Jennings is JJ 2.0 are idiots. We've got a real qb coach now in Cam, Jennings has all the tools to be a great QB, and we're going to have the talent around him to let him grow.

Pretty much this, he wasn't confident in his reads. Made decisions a little too late. Have to give some credit to Iowa's defense though, they were solid in pass coverage all game.

Jennings just needs some time to develop some confidence in what he is seeing. Interception was a late read which resulted in an overthrow in my opinion. But they play where he scrambled, hovered around the LOS then threw for a first down showed what kind of ability he actually has.

The tools are there, and by all accounts he is a sharp kid who works his butt off.

No one can deny that AJ struggled in his first major test as a starter. Yet let's not all start blighting our finger nails about it.

True freshman, bowl game, top 10 D opponent...we should not has expected RKansas over again. Let's not forget that some of the greatest QBs ever at LSU also struggled mightily their early playing time...Bert Jones, Risher, Russell, Rohan Davey. Only Tommy Hodson played lights out from his first to last game as a 4 year starting QB.
