Well, he wasn't good today. But I can think back and remember Rohan Davey being atrocious starting against Auburn in his first start against a real team in Tiger Stadium as a sophomore. He completed like four passes and had two ints. before being pulled. He ended up being great for LSU. So sometimes there are some rocky moments in the beginning.

The field conditions were bad and he was overthrowing everything by a mile. So let's just hope it was one of those games. He did run the option well for the score though.

Contract aside, I think Cameron giving his word to Les for 3 years will keep him here.

new QBs tend to be up and down. Jamarcus was actually "worth a dang" a few times as a freshman, but also had his terrible moments. Mett had 3 straight games in 2012 where he couldn't complete 50% of his passes. Mauck's accuracy his first few starts in 02 was all over the place.

like someone else said, his issues looks to be correctable.

He was like Mett at aTm two years ago. Overthrew some deep passes and a couple other mistakes, with a couple brilliant plays in between.

It was one game.

Let me correct the stats I posted. He was 7 for 19. Beckham threw one incomplete pass that is included in the team's passing stats."

Um try 7 for 23, incl 4 sacks, pic 6

Is terrible, hopefully he get better or we find one that can

Agree.. He led us back in the Cap 1 bowl against Iowa. We should have won except our DB coach was incompetent.

Agree totally. Speed of the game and ability to make good decisions don't come to true freshmen. The best, and the only time, I saw this work was Herb Tyler. He was money as a true freshman

He looked tentative. I think the long buildup to the game really messed with him. It looked like the moment was too big for him. The coaches did the right thing to just protect the lead and keep feeding Hill.

Don't need to worry about next season yet. Enjoy another 10 win season under Les.

Jennings isn't the natural we hoped he'd be. That's a nice way of putting it, right?

I'm not ready to write the book on that yet

This offseason is going to be huge. He could still come out and be the "natural" we hoped he'd be. He very well may struggle coming out of the gate, but I think Cam has some solid physical tools to work with with this kid.

Wish the weather would have been good to see him play in better conditions

That scramble where he threw the ball just as he got to the line of scrimmage was something to be excited about.

He had a couple other times where the pocket collapsed and he kept his eyes down field while avoiding the rush. That may not have been "brilliant", but definitely promising.

yeah the pull up on the scramble was good, a couple of the 3rd down completions to Landry were good.

another thing is that I think by and large he made good decisions on where to throw the ball. I really don't remember him throwing into heavy coverage or having passes that should've been picked. even on the INT, I think he threw to the right guy, the pass was just shitty.

He had very few. The pass where he scrambled and threw it before crossing the line of scrimmage (which was already mentioned) and the option TD run were good though. That was about it.

We didn't blow any timeouts early and often like usual that I can remember, so kudos to him for that.

He was a dual threat qb that never left the pocket

His mechanics and footwork must be fixed. He sails every single pass. He does that next year and he'll throw 15 interceptions. Cam stays, he'll be ok. Cam leaves, he won't start.
