my bad. sorry to not have the football IQ that you do but to say you know exactly what that play was designed to do is hilarious.

Not a bubble screen but a swing screen. Jazz wasn't even looking at the DB because he was too concerned with the snap of the ball. Being more aware of his surroundings will come with experience.

Semantics.

He took 3 full steps in the direction of the DB, he was definitely looking at him.

That was some Jimmy Graham run blocking-type of "effort" there, no question.

idk why you go with jazz there instead of like Diarse.

Also i think if you don't send Guice in motion you don't need to run a weak WR screen. You just just the defenders off downfield.

Let Guice beat a linebacker with his speed and then he is running down hill when he get to the defenders.

But that being said, If we executed well the play would have worked pretty well.

He could have picked that off and gone for a TD. Could you imagine McNeese leading 7-0 and the game being called? The trolls would be feasting on that.

If he makes that block.. it's probably a nice gain

Or just make a half-assed attempt to get in front of the defensive player...

Absolutely right. We needed this game to happen so we could work out the kinks and freshman mistakes.

It was a strange call considering the guys in front of him on the depth chart.

probably the more physical player too.

the CB did a great job reading the play, but i think a good block could have been made.

I mean give Guice some real carried and they won't hone in on the sweep at much.

it would be great if we threw it the WR the next time too.

idk

its harder to procrastinate when we don't actually play a game

Wow. Whiff 2.0.

I don't think I'm too keen on the idea of this guy lining up to protect our punter next week.

Is it not a rule at LSU that if you want reps and targets at WR you have to block well and consistently? If so this guy shouldn't touch the field for State next week after two whiffed blocks.
