It kind of reminds of SWAC Football games, I attended when I was younger..The stadium is filled for kickoff and throughout the first half,,,after the halftime show the stands are emptying out.

Its becoming such an issue that other schools that don't experience this problem as obviously as LSU does will begin using it in negative recruiting.

The emotional attachment to LSU has weakened as LSU has become more commercialized and controlling. I began to feel like the enemy or target going to games instead of visiting my alma mater.
* excessive parking/tailgating rules rules rules rules
* nitpicking for every extra dollar
* commercials EVERWHERE
* piped in music depersonalizes the experience and makes me feel like I'm at a Saints game
* security lines and frisk downs at gates
The experience today is NOTHING like has traditionally been. And please spare me the 'deal with it', 'you're a p*ssy', etc etc. The facts are that the experience has changed dramatically and the fans have lost a great deal of loyalty in the process.
Some of the changes were necessary for competitive reasons (money), but most were just examples of bureaucracy run wild (tailgating regulations, piped music, traffic flow/parking).
LSU has made some bad decisions and poor attendance and enthusiasm are the result. There is NO WAY around this fact.

Starting to look like Tulane games in the Dome. Looks horrible on TV. This can cause some providers to stop choosing to air our games over others.

The problem is that we all think the season revoles around ALABAMA, and we only playing for 2nd place lately. Beat ALABAMA and the crowd goes nuts again.

CLM handled that very well. It was sad to see on tv. But hey, we won the game. We survived and advanced. Now on to Oxford for our next play off game! Survive and Advance! Geaux Tigers!

I went to the game and I was in Section 415. The Section looked full, at least for the first half, but more than anything people just weren't yelling. I couldn't believe it. While the game was going on people were looking at their phones or just sitting on their hands. I felt like me and my wife were the only people within a 20 yard radius yelling, it was pretty pathetic.

Tiger Stadium's Saturday Night mystique is a myth
Kept alive by LSU's SID to keep selling tickets and ad space.
The crowd, even when present is far tamer than years past.

I'm not saying this is the entire reason, but I think a big reason is Alabama fatigue. Obviously they have won three of the last four BCS titles. The "Mulligan" of 2011 and their quick move back up to the top two after losing to aTm last year combined with the release of the 2013 "bridge" schedule (which was tailor-made for Bama to have a cake walk into the BCSNCG) has made LSU fans wary of becoming excited about the season. We all know that no matter what happens, EVEN IF LSU BEATS ALABAMA ON THE FIELD, it won't count. Bama will get another chance. LSU did everything right in 2011. Still got screwed. Fans are just a bit gun shy while Alabama is still a viable option for the BCSNCG. It's difficult to get excited when you know that Bama will get all of the advantages and favoritism.
This X 1Gazzillion.
I don't like paying $8 to see a movie, especially when I know how it will end.
Why pay $3000+ to be entertained when I know how CFB will work out?
Media Darling + Easy Schedule + Politics = College Football Becoming The WWE
I can watch it at home for close to nothing.

And then this.
When I'm in the stands, I want to hear the band, not some shitty rap song or pop song with some chick wailing on autotune.

Just face it. The prime of tiger stadium has passed. I'm glad I got to experience it from 1995-2008. The good years in Tiger Stadium.

Culture has changed everywhere when it comes to live events. We are in an age of entertainment and distractions at your fingertips literally. Live sporting events don't have the mystique they used to have because of that.
Tiger stadium earned its reputation organically. The university and corporations saw an opportunity to take advantage of that reputation. The gameday experience suffers due to people making more money off it. Enter HD TV and cell phones with internet and Tiger Stadium, among others, aren't what they used to be.
Very rarely does that feeling like your connected with every single person in that stadium happen anymore.
And we have become spoiled as a fanbase. There are very few games we don't expect to win anymore. When those games come along, especially at night, it's as good as ever. I have a feeling the A&M game will be stout.

I'm so sick of the excuses made by this fanbase.
"commercialized"...."controlling".
Stop with this bullshite:
THIS is how you define commercialization and control.
I haven't missed a home game in 20 years and the experience IS different now, but not for the reasons YOU seem to think.
Fans have gotten lazy, spoiled and apathetic.
Buncha hypocrites to expect greatness from the university and the athletic programs and then bitch about the peripheral inconveniences.
FOREVER LSU...even in 85 degree weather with AC/DC blasting, even in long lines and God forbid, even in traffic.

And this. I was in section 104 and after the first few rows everyone just sat on their arse quietly. Even on 3rd and 4th downs, like getting up or making some noise was beneath them.
