Molton is fast, maybe not Byrd fast, but he's not that far behind.
last I remember, he was clocked at 4.5, but that was during the recruitment process. I'd imagine he's gotten a little faster since then.
he's caught a few bombs, but i think his best asset is his "run after catch" ability. he's excellent in the open field.
i don't think he's "the best LSU has seen in a long time," but he'll definitely contribute soon.
i'd love to see him catch some passes from Jefferson again. they have good chemistry.
we are loaded with talent at WR. its just a matter of who'll emerge in the top 3 and get the playing time.

The only knock on him is he's a cocky motherfricker.
It's good to have a little cockiness at this level to make you confident, I sure hope it's not a Terrel Owens or Chad Johnson cockiness.

Molton faster than Byrd? I find that hard to believe.

i'll have to see it to believe it. i don't believe he will be around too much longer. very surprised he got an offer. i hope he plays with a big chip on his shoulder b/c he will need to in order to crack the top 5 anytime soon.

IMO, the best ceiling comparison for Molton is Bowe.
They are both strong and can break tackles for yards after the catch. Both were very raw in HS. Both have very good, but not great speed. But both are superior natural athletes inspite of that.
Molton's physique just isn't as far along now as Bowe's was early in his LSU career. That will change.

While the "limited speed, limited upside" schtick is what everyone thought of Tim when he was signed (he did have great hands and ran pretty good routes)....the fact is we are hearing from multiple, reliable sources that everyone was WRONG.
He is very fast, with a big upside. How you develop...attitude and work ethic: it's the difference between being a good prospect and being a great player.
You may have thought all this about Tim when he signed, but it seems we were all wrong about what kind of player he was/is.

I've seen Molton play. Runs great routes and has above average hands. Lets not forget the chemistry he and Jefferson already have too.

The people complaining that we took Molton over LaRon Byrd will be eating crow soon enough.

Not saying that Molton will not be very good, but Byrd had a nice freshman season at Miami. He will have a great career their as well.

I went to almost all of the Destrahan games when he was a senior and not to burst yall bubble but he has terrible hands. They say he has progressed and I wish him the best of luck but he really needed to improve out of high school. He was a great long ball reciver but he could never catch a ball with his hands...he continued to drop balls all season and it was obvious to the crowd when he dropped another 1. Now I have also heared he was improving but he his not the second lafell and would really surprise me if he would ever see the field.

1. Molton =/ Lafell...why? SIZE
2. Destrehan is representing itself very well at LSU...Go Wildcats!
