We won pretty easily. I was happy with the performance yesterday

we raped them too. The stats may not show that, but they just PI every time we went downfield

You thought yesterday's win was "ugly"? Against Florida?

1. It was not a ugly win.
2. I can get use to winning.
3. This is not "the way its going to be". LSU took what florida was giving them. This off. is not suddenly going back to 2011-12 for no reason. florida has perhaps the best secondary in the NCAA.
4.

LSU fans have a tough time with the difference between a boring win and an ugly win. There wasn't one thing ugly about that damn game. Our defense gave them zero big plays, bent but didn't break and held them out the end zone. Our offensive strategy worked like a charm, pound them in the line where they were missing their top d-lineman and grind out a win. What else do u frickin want.

He wants the game won in 1st quarter so as not to be "frustrated".

A win is a win. Doesn't make a difference in the nfl

Defense was dominant all game and while he could have added style points by opening up the offense there was no reason. A "W" is a "W." I was as frustrated as any other fan

hell, our O shot itself in the foot all night. while the strategy was spot on, our O's execution in the passing game was shaky. from mett's fumble to landry's dropped passes to mett missing the wide open boone and not even seeing the wide open TE we let florida hang around. but guts and toughness pulledit out for us.

Mett was hurting all night after an early hit. it was obvious he was struggling.

To the OP. I tried that argument. I said we are scoring too quickly. We need to slow the pace and frequency of the scoring. I would have rather'd beaten GA in a 14-10 boring type game. Instead of losing but both teams score 50. My point is, nothing beats a good running game and a shut down defense. It may be boring, but in the end, the w-l is all that matters.

"Conservative offense"? When you're averaging 6.2 yards per carry, you don't have to be fancy.

Your title should changed from
quote:

Tigers winning ugly again

to
quote:

Tigers winning with hard-nosed football again

This post has 8 down votes. Guess it was TL DR.

I would definitely take a shoot-out in the first have. A lead that we can milk the clock on.

Hope Jennings gets more PT.

we played a good defense in Florida and dominated. Sure the offense didn't look great but that was far from an ugly win.

I take it back. There WAS that one ugly play where we threw the lateral to Mett and he threw it to nobody

Yea, you would have to think Florida was preparing for Mett to pass 25+ times, but it didn't happen, and in hindsight, we didn't need the pass to win, running game was dominant.

It's been stressed ad nauseum on here, but UF's secondary is elite. They were also without their beat defensive lineman in Easley. The coaches clearly tailored the game plan to attack their weakness (with the strength of the running game) and avoid directly attacking their strongest asset. It worked perfectly and they didn't need to stray from it, save for a few third down conversions.

You could have just told us you have no idea what you're talking about. A long post was not necessary to convey that.

You are right. It wasn't ugly but it was pretty slow and boring at times. Just not very many big plays on either offense or defense to get excited about. I'm spoiled by the early games. I want that pro passing attack working on all cylinders and firing me up.
