I like the renderings

They've been working on this for a couple months already and I would definitely expect it to be finished by next season.

Every morning I jog right past there and they tore up my sidewalk that I run on, but now that I see what will become of it, I'm glad!

Edit:

Check out the gates! No more Toonces!! PRAISE THE LAWD!!!

Stopped reading right here.

Yeah, you're right.. they will never ever ever build a new stadium.

Maybe in 100 years or so. Hell, the current one is 88 years old at the base and still going strong.

I didn't need to. Everything after that was just dribble.

..In the first picture, You can see in the top right that it appears "TIGER STADIUM" will be in big block letters towards the top. I really like that, and hope they follow through with putting that up there.

Off the record I can say that they are gonna be there.

'm excited about the South end zone expansion, but I'm almost equally excited about the West and North exterior renovations/upgrades. The West exterior needs some "character" and I think what they're doing is going to be really nice. It will be nice taking the focal point off of the blah two huge center columns and onto the main gate/championCircle as well as Tiger Stadium wording up top.

Having seen what the final product will look like I have warmed up to it and am actually in favor of the way they are doing it.

Why not just use "geaux font"?

It might not be in the rendering but it will be on the finished product.

Can you comment on how the people entering the SEZ will access the upper deck seating? I assume the club and suite level will be elevator, but what about the seats at the very top?

i do think the font and everything looks like a carnival. that's why i dont hate the idea of what they're doing, they just need to tweek it.

I think that is more a problem with Sketch-up (the program they used). It's limited in what you can render and was initially developed for building models for google earth which don't have much detail.

I wish they would tell us what they are doing with the North side of the stadium.

It is part of the champion's plaza project for the West side. It will wrap around to a portion of the SEZ as well.

for example if the circle that says gate 6 was in wrought iron or something i think it would look better.

Agreed. From what I can tell it will be the same type of signage as the TS lettering but I'm not sure exactly what they are doing.

Can you elaborate on what the difference are between the final product and the renderings in the OP?

So, you can confirm that it will say TIGER STADIUM as is on the rendering?...If so, Awesome!

I'd love to see a "straight-on" shot/rendering of what the West side exterior will look like...both of the pics in the OP are at an angle and doesn't give you a straight-away view of the whole West side.

There aren't much if any deviations from these renderings. Some changes with the canopies at the gates. My main issue was the way the renderings gave it the theme park feel. That issue is directed more towards the program (sketch-up).

Yes

Agreed and that view (which doesn't exist) will make everything tie together even more. A rendering could have been made from the model (which I don't have) but it wasn't.

Agreed. Really like the idea but wouldn't mind them tinkering with the "font" a little. Would be really tight if they had "Welcome to Death Valley" instead.

I agree with this

Really like it. Just wish we could tear down the nearby Athletics Administration Building.

It looks like a big boner in the middle of great athletic facilities. Built in a day when LSU wanted all coaches under one roof. But now coaches offices are on their own islands....Les in football building, PM at the Box, and hoops in PMAC.

I agree. That was a big 'white elephant' of the Joe Dean Administration. It's horribly placed and does not blend architecturally with anything around it. If the intention was to have all head coaches offices there then that turned out to be a HUGE waste of precious resources.
