to the radio shows, our fans have proven three things to me:

But yet, Tiger stadium has 90,000+ each and every Saturday. So, our town/fans can't be all bad.

Truth be known, we live in a complaining/moaning world, so why would we expect sports to be different.

I think you would be mistaken if you were too think that what we see on a sports forum or hear on radio shows is a majority opinion on anything. It is by far a minority opinion, but a vocal one.

Plus, all these the sky is falling types are NOT LSU fans any way, shape, or form.

I am not so sure of this...I would bet more fans have concerns about our team than those that don't have concerns...

1) 90% are not and probably never will be over the fact that Nick Saban in NOT our fricking coach anymore.

2) Les Miles could cure cancer & aids (the OT would be thrilled about the latter) and still bring in a top 5 recruiting class and win 10 games and it will NEVER be enough if we're not winning games by the fan's blueprint. I'm completely convinced that some people will just never like the guy.

I was listening to the radio this morning and this is by far the most sickening. Our fans need to get over the fact that Saban is not the coach here and will never be the coach here again and support Miles....As opposed to criticzing Miles for everything he does, not blowing opponents out, not developing talent, not holding the team to 10 total yards, the man has already won a national championship for LSU and you still don't support him? He is our coach whether you like it or not, bitching about everything he does won't change that.

Good insight Carl.

That is a large part of the defensive chess match. If the defense doesn't have the right play in, the perfect offensive call works.......and, if the offensive personnel take care of their responsibilities.

Guys, it's kinda like a golf swing at times. When you get all 52 movements in sync, BOOM! But, that is the enigma.

I think by far the most entertaining part of all of this is that 99.9999999% percent of the bitching being done is people bitching about people bitching. The irony and hypocrisy of the fan-bashers is beyond imagination or belief.

Some of the discontent seems to be an issue of not seeing the forest for the trees. Compare any previious coach's record while here at LSU and Miles. So far Miles fares well in this comparison. College football in general and SEC football in particular is in a constant state of flux and every year (and each team) will be different.

This is the true wisdom here. Honestly, how much better is any LSU fan's life because of '03 and '07? How worse off is it because of '02 or '08 (or Hallman, etc.)?

I enjoy the hell out of myself ... win, lose, or draw. Do I take LSU football seriously? Of course, but at some point people need to just relax.

LSU fans have always been pretty much unbearable but with the success in the past 10 years, IMO fans have not handled the success very well, meaning their expectations are frankly out of control. Being upset about not winning by what they expect to win doesn't take into account that other teams WANT to beat LSU and to many schools it is their biggest game. As Miles said, no one doesn't know they are playing LSU

I think you are probably correct as I have "concerns" of my own, but I'm not ready to jump off a cliff just yet or run around shouting out that the sky is falling. I think there will be time enough for that later if it needs to be done.

Right now, I will take the 3-0, Top 10 ranking and hold my water for a tad longer before I start letting it go. But hey, that's just me....each to our own if you are a LSU fan.

3) We have some severely underpaid people running around. Apparently some of them just missed their opportunity to coach college football.

We also have some severely delusional people running around trying to control everybody's thoughts. Apparently some of them have forgotten that we live in the U.S.A. where we're granted freedom of speech and the right to voice our opinions. A lot of em appear to be L.S.U. fans that get their lace covered cheerleaders panties all in a wad when they hear or read opinions that are different than theirs. They just can't handle any variations of what they perceive as the truth, at least their version of the truth as seen through the lenses of their P + G tinted glasses.

And, speaking of Baton Rouge becoming intolerable, why would anybody choose to live there after they graduated from L.S.U.? It should only be desirable for the true L.S.U. fanatics that are obsessive/compulsive about being in attendence at every single athletic event.

Jesus tap dancing Christ, just STFU douche.

eta: Case in point, this douche on Buddy's show right now that leads with "I'm a high school defensive coordinator and coach DBs and have gone to Chavis' coaching clinics" then Buddy has to correct him on the type of scheme Chavis has been running so far.

I promised myself I would stay off threads unless I thought I had something to add that showed some insight into the program or the process. While waiting for a phone call, I scanned this thread. The quote above, and the post from which it comes, reminds me of some videotape I watched with Jimbo Fisher in 2006.

It was after the loss to Florida. Among the many complaints about the 2006 team at that point was the offense had run too many predictable, up-the-gut plays and not thrown enough deep balls. Jimbo showed me the diagram of a play: handoff to a tailback, who would head into the line, turn and pitch the ball back to the quarterback, who would launch a bomb downfield. The ol' flea-flicker, more or less.

Then, he showed me the tape from the game. Justin Vincent got the carry. Dwayne Bowe was wide open downfield. Something went wrong -- a missed block, a bobble, something -- when Vincent was one step away from lateraling to JaMarcus Russell. It could have been a game-changing play. It was the perfect call, and it would have satisfied one of the major criticisms about the offense, but it didn't work.

Mr. Dubois,

When you had this meeting with Jimbo, obviously he didn't know that Russell would be the No.1 player in the draft or that both Bowe and Davis would be drafted in the 1st round.

It's kind of easy to pick apart that Florida game.

Because the coaches did have a good gameplan going in.

A series of player mistakes (Russell, Doucet), allowed Florida to have that game.

That wasn't the case at Auburn though.

If you ever cross paths with Jimbo again, I would ask him if there has ever been a situation where a QB was taken No.1 in the draft, along with two No.1 WRs. No.

And 3 pts??????

The No.1 player (the best QB Jimbo has ever had) and two first round receivers and they had to lateral to get a guy open?

Good luck Seminoles.

I am not a big Jimbo Fisher fan, but does anyone hink J.Russell should have been a first round pick?

just talked to Jimbo, he said if JR would've thrown the damn ball to Early when he was supposed to, and where he was supposed to, that would've been an easy touchdown.

My question to all these negative thinking people is, What happens if as the seaon continues and LSU gets better each week while winning the game, no matter who is is, and then they are undefeated going into Atlanta to play Florida for the SEC Championship and then as it plays out they are the only 1 lose teams after this game is overwith and they are both invited to play for the BCS Championship?
P.S. Don't say it is impossible for that to happen because we have seen some crazy things in the past years not to mention 2007.

I am saying this, nobody knows what is going to happen from one game to the next. We here at LSU have seen it all over the years. From 1978 or 79 when Bo Rihen was hired and he never made to campus let alone coach a game for LSU. Then Jerry Stoval being hired agter being turned down just two weeks earlier so that LSU could have a coach to continue recruiting. Then being fired two years later and then being rehired to caoch two more years to be fired yet again when Broadhead hired his buddy Bill Arnsbarger. A lot of you know how things went after that that led to a downward spiril for 6 years. Archer in '88 led the team to 10-1 season then after being ranked in the top 5 for '89 season to only win 3 games and then it went to h-e-double-l in a hand basket. We need to stop and think what we say on these boards about someone because, once it is said you can not take it back. It is out there for the whole world to read.
We as a people here as LSU fans are a lot better people than what is being said and written on these boards. I believe in our team and I believe in our fanbase. We are the best in the country to me and I would not trade this place for no other in the country. But if you sit back and read what is being said you would not believe it. Les has lost some games, but gosh dog-it look at his record, he is the best in the conference over the last 6 years and he is 3-0 so far this year , but if you read all this junk on here you would think that he is 0-3. Who you going to hire that is better than he is? When Saban left we where on a down turn his last year. He lost to teams while he was here LSU had no buisiness losing to and when he went to Bama he still lost to teams that should never been in the game with them. Stoops can't win the big ones. Tressel the same thing there. Then there is Petey-Boy out at USC he is the same way losing to teams that they should have bee able to beat them. So, who you going to go get someone that has a worst record than Les Miles? Who is better that we can go and hire that will not cause us to have to lose for at least two years in order for them to get their scheme in place in order to be competitive with the others in the SEC? Right now there is nobody out there that I would want to take a chance on so that is why I am pleased with what we have. Until he loses to many games over the next couple of years then I might start looking for someone else, but they had better be better than what we have now!
