Entire Dline opting out except for Wingo is inexcusable. Something needs to be done to disincentivize this or just decline bowl bids. I hope this doesn’t turn into another Texas Bowl debacle

It sucks, but you can't force them to play.

If someone offered you a promotion worth millions annually, told you you didn’t have to finish out your 2 week notice, and if you do there’s a 10% chance you go brain dead then you don’t get that promotion anymore…would you do it?

Sure I bet you would…

That's an unfathomable exaggeration

It’s probably more beneficial to have the younger guys get game experience. It sucks to not be at full strength but there are positives to it.

It’s probably more likely to die while waiting for your 2 week notice to expire than to get a career ending injury in a bowl game. Literally never happens

The coming expanded playoffs will fix most of these issues. There’s no incentive to play a non playoff bowl, not for coaches or players. So these guys cut and run if, and when, they’re able. Coaches ditch for bigger jobs to lock up recruits for early signing, and players don’t want to risk unnecessary injury before the draft. These opt outs would likely play if they still had a tangible reason. People arguing against an expanded CFP don’t see the bigger picture.

If we can’t beat Purdue with our 2nd team DL then we don’t deserve to win.

Backup LSU D-line will be chasing backup Purdue QB. Seems even.

It’s called expand the playoffs by a lot, even more than 12. And do away with bowls.

Most aren’t worried about a career ender. Guys who need a good combine or good pro day to stay in the 2nd or move up from late rounds can’t afford to get hurt. Why would a first round pick risk a major injury that could cost 5-6 draft spots and millions of dollars.

We should do the study but I would almost guarantee that most of these kids going back to their home environments is more dangerous than school, practice and a game.

I’m not too concerned. Jones and Guillory both have plenty of experience and I’m excited to see more of Zavier Carter. I guess one of Tygee Hill, Bryce Langston, or Fitzgerald West will also play some in this game?

The game is played for the players, not the fans. It’s about their lives and their betterment. What the fans want doesn’t matter except for your money of course.

Just know that you have two teams to play with, the one on the regular season and your bowl team. Besides it doesnt mean as much anymore now with how the CFP has been expanded.
