I used to think we had the best fan base in the country before The Rant proved we have the same loud mouth, ignorant, unrealistic tards as everyone else.
Agree with several others about Hester. Felt like his carries were wasted in 06, and that KW should have been the work horse going into 07.
Thought we would get blasted by Tennessee in 01 SECCG, and didn't think our D could shut down OU the way they did in the 03 NCG.
I was so blatantly wrong about Gary Crowton after 07 it isn't even funny. I truly thought we had the next Spurrier that was going to run through the SEC for the next decade

There's an article, published in an Oregon newspaper, that predicted Crowton's one hit wonder. Dang, was it spot on.

I thought we were going to win the BCSNC in 2011.

I thought We'd win the SEC prior to the 2010 season.
-Having just signed the #2 ranked class the year prior
-Bama losing all that star power and experience after the 2009 season
-JJ having a decent first year starting despite having an awful run game and OL (rated #2 QB in the country in the Redzone)
-Ridley coming on at the end of the year
-Signing a 5 star ATH (Spencer Ware) to play RB
-5 star Reuben Randle in his second year to go along with 5 star Toliver in his senior year
-Deangelo Peterson getting 5 receptions 82 yards and 2 TDs as the backup receiving TE in 2009
-having Nevis, Sheppard, and Peterson anchor every level of the defense
-Chavis in his second year after taking a team in 2008 ranked 38th and 56th in total defense and scoring defense respectively to 26th and 11th
-S/T with the explosive Peterson as KR and PR
All in all, we were in the perfect position to win the SEC. Even with just a decent passing game, we beat a Newton led Auburn. We also choked on defense against Arkansas. Even with the loss against 10-2 Arky, we could have got a bid for the BCSNCG or at least went to the Sugar Bowl and destroy Ohio State. I ask the football Gods, why did JJ have to regress?
I thought Bama had no chance of beating us in the NCG in 2011. I was hella wrong, but I'd figure Miles would pull out his postseason mojo, but to no avail.
Miles started off 4-0 in bowl games blowing out all the traditional powerhouse schools. Now he's 2-3 and barely scraped by the last win. I'm hoping Cam and great QB play will finally change that back into his/our/the team's favor.
ETA: I also thought Frank and Ego would be the best pairing of starting DTs we've had in a while. We usually have that one dominant DT (Dorsey, Nevis, Brockers, Logan) and a decent guy at his side.

I thought that the other backs on the staff were nearly as good as Jeremy Hill and that we'd be fine if he got kicked off the team.
Guilty of this too, but I never thought Hill would be kicked off.
After watching Blue and Hilliard the first 3 games of the 2012 year, I thought they'd do more than great. Blue was still who I thought would have a breakout year (and that Hill would be the backup). Guess he just couldn't get it out of his mind.
Oh, and that Spencer Ware would be the best RB in the SEC after watching him against TAMU in the Cotton Bowl

Late 90's and after we lost to UAB...."I'll never see LSU win a national championship in my lifetime."

Back in 2003, I was honestly waiting for LSU to blow it, I still had the 98 season fresh in my mind..... I was expecting losses to Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia, then Oklahoma.

I don't even want to bring it up.

I really wanted to play Bama in the championship game in 2011. At the time, that LSU team was the best college football team I ever saw. I thought we could not lose and that it would be so much sweeter to beat Bama than Oklahoma State. It was painful how wrong I was.

Doc if ESPN didn't do sabins recruiting he wouldn't be a sec coach !

I didn't think Mingo was going to be as great as he was. I thought he was talented but I didn't know where he would play with his size. I was majorly wrong on that one, thankfully.

I thought Chavis was a washed-up old re-tread who was going to be a terrible hire. I was wrong, it was Fulmer who sucked.

The biggest one I think we all can relate with was 2007. I woke up that morning in Atlanta thinking Miles was gone. I was also expecting LSU to lose to Tenn that day. Had no idea the day would unfold the way it played out.

Longhorn , you seem to know something about stupid, coach miles knows sonething about coaching , if you and the other nega tigers had less ego yall would learn something about football except fot retro coaching and recruit repulsion !

This entire thread should have hundreds of posts about the predictions regarding the careers and impact of Keiland Williams and Michael Ford.
