really feel like the offensive line is the issue

This is true of any team trying to run a prostyle offense. No prostyle team in cfb recruits well enough on the oline to combat the talent bama has in the front 7. Bama's 2016 front 7 had more players with a 1st rd grade than lsu's entire team.

We could have had Drew Breez this past season and it would not have helped us

bullshite. there were plays to be had and Etling did not play well. If Brees were our qb those bama db would be eaten alive. If Brees were the qb those bama safeties arent peaking into the back field. Come on.

Not compared to their front 7. Not even close talent wise.

loaded the box and dominated the line

bama did not load the box in 2015 or 2016.
They destroyed us straight up. In 2015 they were able to use 2 nts and just impose their will. In 2016 they hadone of the most talented(draft position wise)front 7 in sec history.
Bama did not load shite in either of those years.

The key to beating Bama is 100% having a qb who can beat you with his arm or his feet. You will not beat them with only a pocket passer.

I've come to realize that most of these tools don't even know what the box is. If a team stops our run game then the box=loaded.

Bama absolutely skull fricked our tackles while double covering dupre and chark.

THAT'S why etling struggled. He had zero time to throw when they WEREN'T blitzing. When they did blitz he didn't have a chance in hell

Get ahead in the count. Score early and keep their hitters guessing. Lange and Poche need to deal.

I know you're asking about how to beat them in baseball. You know, since it's fricking March.

Same with Alabama aka P. Peterson 2009.

Pretty sure you don't know how "aka" works properly... statement above literally makes no sense. Unless autocorrect maybe?

Saban recruited and schemed specifically to beat LSU since around 2009. He's always seen LSU as his biggest obstacle to winning the West.

Miles offense was fine against most teams. Alabama was built specifically to stop it though, so it didn't work against them.

That is also the reason why Alabama has been susceptible to spread option teams that have beaten them in recent years like Ole Miss, A&M, Clemson and OSU.

With Miles gone, Saban will adjust and will retool his defense to stop the likes of Clemson more than the traditional LSU offense.

Nothing "Great" about any aspect of the LSU OL.

Run blocking was mediocre. The running game looked good solely due of the "Special" backs. (Not the OL)

Pass blocking was atrocious. Too many penalties and mental/assignment breakdowns every game.

Grimes gets a pass one more year due to Miles micro-management of the OL.

Let's see how the OL looks this year without him interfering.................

Offensive Line annually gets their stool pushed in by Alabama. Bree's would've been beaten up just like Etling was, he just would've completed more of the five yard passes.

Did you happen to notice Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson the past two years? Fast twitch guys on the edges. Ruben Foster? Not exactly the plodding type like Hightower and McClain were. Their interior guys aren't 350 anymore, they're 290-300. He just hasn't figured out how to stop teams with near equal talent.

Saban already HAS retooled, he just could afford to have his safeties 3 yards off the line of scrimmage because LSU was going to run no matter what.

Many of those last 6 loses were self inflicted end of game giveaways.

I was going to say a stronger bullpen then realized this was a football thread and immediately thought, "frick, another how to beat Bama thread."
