Did you happen to notice Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson the past two years? Fast twitch guys on the edges.

Situational pass rushers in 2015. Last year they saw expanded roles after adding weight and continued to thrive.

I agree with your point in general, but I think the changes we've seen are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of how Saban views his defense going forward.

I think he's overrated as an X's and O's coach. He simply out talents teams.
Our skill people have been on par with them, but we have been way below them at QB and OL and the scheme accentuated this greatly.

Run blocking was mediocre.

I hope you're not talking about the entire season. Do you mean run blocking was bad against bama?

Grimes gets a pass one more year due to Miles micro-management of the OL.

What proof do you have that says Miles micro managed the oline?

Let's see how the OL looks this year without him interfering.................

Our oline was very good last year. We had more oline players on all sec teams than any sec program. We had a remington award finalist. There are zero facts that paint the lsu oline as bad. They were bad against bama and wisky( although we had the 3rd highest yards per play of any team wisky played).
Every cfb site and sports analyst ranks our oline as one of the best in cfb.

He is. You've seen Nick Saban coached sec teams that lose to ULM and UAB.

Do you know how good drew brees is? He's going to be in the hall of fame. Yeah he would have made a difference last year. Holy shite. Our o line wasn't getting whipped that bad.

Saying the OL was the real problem is actually glossing over the real problem. The real problem was the offensive scheme and game plan along with inconsistent QB play.

LSU wants to play man ball, and you can't beat Bama like that simply because their talent is much better than yours. You know what LSU had in common with Kent St? They were the only other team to not score anything vs Bama last year. LSU had the lowest yardage output and lowest yards per play vs Bama than any other team that played them last year. That includes Chattanooga.

LSU needed an overhaul on offense which seems like what Canada is implementing. Now all we need is consistent QB play. We have the talent, it just needs to be properly utilized.

Beat them in recruiting.

Nobody beats them in recruiting, so I say "match them in recruiting" which is starting to happen

No its not. Bama has 6 straight #1 classes. Lsu has two top 5 finishes in the last 4 years.

Perhaps, but he knows how to recruit [insert Dodge jokes here], and assemble a roster.

He also knows game planning. His deficiencies with X's and O's are in-game issues. He's also shown a lot of improvement in this area since those losses to ULM and UAB.

Im not saying he isnt a great x and O coach because he is but I don't think he is like Belichik.

He still loses to an inferior team every year.

Youre right about recruiting though. IMO he is the best recruiter in the history of cfb.
