How in the heck do you remember what you did when you were 3? I know of a kid now who's almost 4 and he's still in diapers.

Bama fans live in the past that was 30 years ago. Our championships were within the last decade. There's a difference.

When teams come play us and see a huge, brand-new stadium, the team in the Top 25, knowing that we went to the CWS recently AND see the Intimidator -evidence of our recent dominance- they will be just that: intimidated.

The intimidator is something that is unique to ONLY LSU baseball, it is what Alex Box is known for. Why would you want to take it away?

Hardly the same. I'd be fine with some flags or banners in the new box. But screaming "Look what we did 10-20 years ago!!!" is pretty lame, in my opinion.

by your logic, we need to scratch off that HUGE 1958 national championship logo on the back of the south endzone score board......

We should have it. That is like taking all of the banners off the rafters in Boston, removing all of the images of championships in the new Yankee Stadium.

Bring the intimidator.

I'm torn. At the time, I thought the billboard was the shite. Sure it was arrogant, but we were badass and we deserved it. And, for the record, it was intimidating to the opponents at the time. I had friends who played for other teams and they admitted such. They were beaten before they stepped on the field. But as time has gone on and other programs have put more money into baseball, we're not as dominating. We're still good, but not dominating, and the board may have become tacky.

I'm cool with it or without. I do personally from an aesthetic perspective like the flags hanging in the outfield. It looks traditional and classy and I do believe when a batter steps in the box and sees five NC flags waiving in center, that would be impressive.

It's hilarious that some of you are almost ashamed of the intimidator. What's wrong with being proud and showcasing our past accomplishments? I mean, without those championships, we may not have a New Box to begin with.

It's a great part of LSU sports on campus.

On the back of one of the scoreboards in TS it’s clearly marked ’58, ’03, and ’07 in HUGE numbers. Should we take that down?

Nah. For one, it's huge because it's way the frick up there. Also, our last championship was less than two years ago.

I was fine with leaving it up in the old box. But actually going out of the way to bring that monstrous thing over to the new box is unnecessary.

The billboard only became tacky when it served no purpose (i.e. no longer intimidated).
Lastly, Bgwin = gay.

I'm anti-moving the Intimidator, just not the for the reasons discussed here. I think it was the unique focal point for the old Alex Box, and we should do something different for the new stadium to let it have it's own identity.

I am still all for throwing all of the national titles into every opponent's face regardles of the years we won them. I just think we should find a new way to display them that would be more of a unique centerpiece for the new park.

to say it has ever "intimidated" players is taking it too literally.

It is their mainly to celebrate our past accomplishments. Im sure there has been a time or 2 an opposing player has looked up at it in awe though.

On the other hand, it can also give our players some confidence.

This is a new age of LSU baseball. Our team is on par with those other great teams. I wish they would bring it over and put it on display. Or make a smaller version.

It would add some character. You dont take the ivy off Wrigley or the Green Monster out of Fenway, What would it hurt?

Your entire argument against the intimidator is that "it is no longer intimidating." Please tell me that you are not that dumb and actually realize it was just a name and was not built for the sole purpose of intimidating other players? It was built to celebrate our dominance of the 90's era (Which is actually not that long ago, but for you it sounds like it was the jurassic era). It is widely known in the world of business and management that one must appreciate and celebrate past accomplishments while at the same time moving forward and innovating. LSU has done a great job at that with the new Alex Box.

I hope they put the intimidator right in front of where you sit at the games, if you even go to them at all.

On the sentiment of celebrating the past, I am really curious to see how the monuments outside of the Box commemorating the title teams will look once completed.

They have alot of nice features with the new park, I'm looking forward to seeing it this weekend.

not nearly the same, but i get your point. the only thing is that the intimidator wasn't a part of building the Box's mystique. It is simply a billboard, not part of the stadium. I want the signs that signified our trips to and championships from all of the SEC tourneys and Regionals, like we used to have lining the outfield wall. THAT was a part of the building of the LSU baseball dynasty and intimidated more players than the billboard ever did.

well the whole argument doesnt matter anyways because they aren't putting up a new intimidator. So obviously someone with some sense made a good decision about it
