well, we are THE program and this needs to be drilled into our opponents heads.

We were in the 90's. Now... not so much.

3 years old in 91. did you watch those games or were you busy using the toilet like an adult?

Nope. Sure as hell didn't. And here's a shocker, neither did anyone who will be playing baseball in the new box. They couldn't care less about shite that happened while they were in diapers.

Hardly the same. I'd be fine with some flags or banners in the new box. But screaming "Look what we did 10-20 years ago!!!" is pretty lame, in my opinion.

its actually pretty much the same thing.... just through a different medium....

Negative. Just don't want to live in the past (like a school a couple states to our east).

Well, the difference is screaming it at everyone that walks in the park or just having a reminder up on the wall. The medium is what's outdated, not the message.

According to the logic in this thread if they put up a gigantic billboard with all of their titles listed our players would walk into the stadium and think "Oh no, these guys won some championships before I was born. I think I'll shite my pants".

so you would just rather have it off to the side... more like an art exibit where people can be like " oh... well thats nice" ? is that what you would like.....?

thats bush league.... let people know who you are, where youve been, and you arent going anywhere!

you sound like a pussy

THAT I do agree with...the players definitely are aware of the history of the program and it is one of the selling points in the recruiting process.

Yeah, some guy from Villanova is going to walk in here this weekend and think..."You know, look at this place. It really doesn't scream big time college baseball. They probably haven't accomplished much around here. We can probably take two from these clowns, if not sweep."

BUT....if we can get the billboard up in time it completely changes things. Then they would obviously be thinking...."Oh shite. Look at that. We have no chance. These guys won a championship when I was in 1st grade. I think I'll curl up in the fetal position and wait for Sunday".

Not at all. On the outfield wall would be fine. Or raising some flags would be nice as well.

Bottom line is, the intimidator isn't intimidating any more.

I don't know about you, but I didn't shite my pants when I was 3.

Not to mention I was twelve and on the edge of my seat at Theriot rounded third in 2000.

But that's besides the point. I'm 20 now. Championships from (soon to be) 2 decades ago are hardly intimidating. They definitely need to be displayed somehow (flags, something on the outfield wall, etc) but keep it understated.

So 2000 is soon to be 2 decades ago? Never mind shitting your pants when you were 3, if you do not realize 9 is not even half of 20, you need to worry about shitting your pants now.

I'm talking about opposing players. You know... the ones who are supposed to be "intimidated".

I was born in '88 and think it would be a travesty if they didn't bring over the intimidator. How can you say the players now don't care about what happened in the 90's? You don't think that played a "little" role in picking a school to attend? You are a moron. Other teams know the legacy of LSU baseball and, especially now with the team on the rise, would get pretty intimidated by the billoard.

If you look at how championships are recognized throughout baseball on all levels, the intimidator would be the one to stick out and be considered bush league.

It was cool in its day. It has run its course. Let it go.

In that case, as an opposing player I would be more intimidated by an atmosphere like none other in college baseball. Not a sign.

The fans rocking the joint...that's intimidating.

The decade we were dominant in was the 90s. The 2000's are almost gone. When the 2010s roll around (next year for those counting) it will begin the second decade since the 90s.

Follow me now? I can add. Don't worry.

You don't think if that huge sign wasn't there, they wouldn't know LSU won those titles? They'd see the flags, and the words printed on the dugout (in Old Alex Box, of course).

I'm talking about the opposition anyway.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with this statement. I sure as hell wouldn't be intimidated by it.
