Realistic isn't negative. They lost to Arky and Ole Miss last year. Plus the season is officially a letdown after they have been eliminated from winning the West.

is it being realistic to think all three teams are the same as last year?

earlier this season some dumbasses were saying LSU was going to go 6-6 and saying they were just being realistic.

I never said they were all the same. Just making a point that they had enough talent and/or coaching to beat LSU last year so it woudln't be shocking if they dropped a game to the Runts or the Pigs. If they win both of those then the bowl matchup should be a pretty good team.

I was guessing 10-2 regular season record before the season so can't complain about the record if they achieve that. The problem is Bama and Florida are clearly the only 2 in the top tier of the SEC now.

how many coaches have done better than 49-13 in the last 4.5 yrs...had to coach in the $EC...have won a natcham...had a Heisman caliber qb quit on his team...while crushing four other top rated coaches? just saying.

I dunno, but could a better coach do better? Should 2006 team competed for the NC? Should 2007 team not have struggled so much and have to rely on upsets to get into the NC game? Does Miles really get the best performance from these players?

At the end of the day, wins and losses are all that anyone gives a shite about...he's 4-1 against Auburn...I credit him for that.

And we are happy you wanted Chizik as coach. I hope AU is happy with him for a long time. Also you do understand that Miles is 4-1 against Auburn, and one bad officating game away from being 5-0?

I think the general consensus is that any coach at LSU (well, almost any) is going to have a top 5 team to work with, at least in terms of talent on paper. Miles is a good coach, but he's also dumb enough to lose games he should win.

So winning at LSU is easy? Funny, out of 119 Div 1 schools, LSU is the ONLY school where its easy to win? You sound like a damn Bama fan.

Winning nat'l titles takes luck, no matter how good you are.
Actually it takes beating Bama and Florida, something we haven't done much of the last two years. The luck comes in later, but we have to get through the SEC first. If Miles loses to Bama and Florida every year, we go 10-2, we don't get a BCS bowl, an SECCG, or a NCG you mean to tell me you would be happy with that?

I guess I will post it again, for all of the slow people out there...Maybe it takes more than once for some..

Can anyone tell me the last time anyone won the SEC, National Championship, or any other conference championship (for that matter) with primarily a fresh. or Soph. QB?

I think you will see it is quite obvious that no one can consistently win without a Jr or Sr leadership at the QB postion..

Because that is way too logical and positive for the idiots on this board.

I live in Georgia and Richt is taking some heat for the first time; Last year they choked and this year they already have 4 losses; Spurrier continues to lose at South Carolina and everyone puts him as an elite coach which he was at one time. No one or team stays on top forever. There can only be one National Champion a year.
Are all the rest of the teams supposed to fire their coaches? To even suggest that we should fire Miles after his record at LSU is really mind boggling to me. I haven't posted much and to tell you the truth I try to avoid reading the fire Les threads because they are so idiotic. Sorry for rambling. As my daughter would say.

You might want to think that through - either be accurate with details or don't include them.

Tressel has NEVER been on the hot seat at OSU. His job has never been in jeopardy.

If you mean he was under fire from fans, then yeah. He still is, a little, in all honesty, based on some decisions related to the coaching staff/play calling.

Granted, Miles did beat a talented AU team in 2005, but that was in OT, at night in Baton Rouge, when our kicker missed five field goals. Five!!! You can't credit him in any way for that.

Sure I can - he's listed as the winning coach. He also coached a team that was forcing FG attempts, rather than scoring TDs (though a lot of that was Pelini).

Something the original poster left out - Miles would be 5-0 against Auburn, except for the cheating refs in 2006.
