So do Herman's losses to Navy and USM count as auditions for the LSU HC job?

Were those teams that he "should" have beaten and didn't?

Why not just wait 2 short weeks and save all the energy and calling fellow fans idiots...but i don't think it's fair holding CEO accountable for CLM's drop off in recruiting DTs and OLs and LBs over his last few years...nt to mention QBs...I expect the Tigers to play their hearts out, but that front 7 is the best in the nation, bar none...jmho

chicken little? where do i say the sky is falling? does it seem like i'm panicking?

your tiny little brain can't even understand the argument that i'm making because you're so wrapped up in this (false) idea that i have an agenda against CEO, or desperately want him to not be the coach.

and congrats on your degree.

All I can judge off of is what I've seen so far and opinions change but as of now coach O is doing a fantastic job. Myself I'm not crowing anyone I'm being realistic. Of course we have a ways to go buy this same OM team lost what 4 games last year and whipped us last year so this was refreshing to see us battle until the 4th quarter ad pull away eventually. But I think most fans are just impressed by how explosive this offense is now and how teams are having trouble figuring out exactly what we are doing. Miles plan was to always enforce his will on opponents and when they would quit we would win. Well we are beating teams that are confident and ready for a fight now. They also can't quite figure out what we are doing on offense and it's causing them to make mistakes. See the wide open busted coverage TD. That never happened before and I think would and will happen more often if we take more shots.

this is fair.

I may be in the minority but I agree with the OP. Orgeron brings a lot to the table as a position and interim coach. Great motivator, recruiter, and Loves LSU. But as a head coach, this is a lot tougher call to make. I'm not saying he should not get a serious look but LSU has to leave their options open. The problem with this is recruiting. Without a named coach, it's very difficult to recruit.

it is because you are a logical human being who doesn't let small sample anecdotal evidence skew your assessment of a longview decision.

CEO might be the man. but nothing that has happened so far should serve as validation of that fact just yet.

but all this talk about whether or not he's earning the job by winning these games? these are games LSU should win.

Yes, but we are the only team that has blown Ole Miss out like that. Bama beat them by 5. Also, we've had 3 straight blowouts and are averaging 41 points per game in those games. That counts for something. I'm not saying he has earned the job, but let's not act like this looks like the same team before the changes were made. It's a huge difference so far in how we FINISH games.

game to game point totals in common opponents has been disproven as a way of ranking relative strength. additionally, ole miss might end up losing 5 games this year.

did that for a stretch last year as well.

no one is arguing that this CEO led team is not better than with 2015- 2016 les miles at the helm.

but that's not the question, is it?

why is it a debbie downer to say that talented LSU should win these games against these opponents and that that doesn't necessarily mean that the dline coach should suddenly be the permanent head coach?

i'm enjoying.

obviously this was needed with the amount of idiots just losing their shite about the idea that maybe just maybe they might premature O-jaculating about already having our next head coach because of 3 wins over 3 inferior teams.

The level of play is much much higher than the previous administration. One season doesn't make a program, but it's refreshing to see after several years of disappointing play.

The ability to keep a program running or build a program is what you want from a HC. Outside of 3-4 coaches, I don't see any slam dunks out there, and LSU isn't getting those 3-4.
