The more I watch that replay, it does kinda look like a planned thing.

I noticed on the replay RS was about to go out on the field but a coach grabbed his jersey and yanked him back. About 5-10 secs later the same coach grabbed him frantically and told him to get out there

This is exactly what happened....

Our offensive coordination is so bizarre that people have to actually entertain the thought that this was an act of deception.

The only act of deception is the one Miles pulled off the morning of the '07 SECCG on Lombardi, Lamonica, and eventually, the BOS.

What you saw was grade A disorganization from a staff that has proven without a shadow of a doubt that they are capable of repeating the exact same mistakes, in almost the exact same fashion.

How soon people forget. Come on people! It was 4th and 9 versus Tennessee. Remember? We have a delay of game after a timeout. 4th and 14. Remember?

End of the very same game we have enough time to run 3 plays and everyone saw what happened. Flash forward to Saturday before halftime. We have the exact same situation and are stopped short of the goal line. We don't attempt to score with a pass on second down with 20+ seconds remaining.

We clock it and waste the down. Sure it's better than changing personnel and eventually snapping the ball with the QB not paying attention and no time left on the play clock, but it's still not the right decision.

A Saints player watching the game next to me had the best explanation in the simplest of forms. A one word answer.

Bizarre.

This post was so awesome I had to quote it in its entirety:
quote:

LOL, just watched the debacle again. NO ONE knew what was going on.

Lee looks to the sideline Murphy comes up twice to ask lee whats going on Peterson has to go ask Lee whats going on. TT isnt sure where to lineup Sheppard isnt sure if he is suppose to be on the field and Reuben Randle is just frickin pissed he has to spend the rest of his college career being coached by a bunch of morons.

Throw in on top of it all Ensminger trying to signal JL to call a timeout(its funnier on video, check it out 7:24) and what you have is a completely inept offense...Yeah i know, no breakthrough discovery there.

Someone absolutely positively deserves to lose their job for the cluster frick this offense has been then last 2 years. This shite happens regularly. Even when we win games this shite happens, hence the unrest with the fanbase even though we were 7-0. Its not a mistake its a pattern, a systemic failure. This shite wouldnt fly at Southeastern I dont know why it should fly at LSU. If someone doesnt lose their job over the way this offense has looked over the past 2 years then i would never expect to see accountability from this adminstration/coaching staff and if you cant expect accountability you shouldnt expect championships.

Despite Crowton's f'd up play call, Lee and Peterson should have seen the middle of the field wide open and change to a TE slant. That being said, they would have had to actually been coached and given the latitiude to recognize things like this. So in the end, I say that this team is so poorly coached that it makes me feel really bad for these kids who come here to play.

Some already "Get It." More and more LSU fans/alums are beginning to "Get It" as the harsh reality of the situation sets in........

Looking at the video, it looks like Peterson was option # 1 and ran the wrong route.

RS knew he was supposed to be on the field. Some of the coaches apparently did not. WTF.

No idea what Toliver was supposed to do.

Total cluster frick. AFTER a time out. Unreal.

Thank you for the link. It was a designed run (from 6 yards out, I know).

I thought it at the time, then wavered, but I am back to that thought after seeing the tape.

Player number 64 (Lonergan) missed a block on a rising DL that would have allowed Lee to run straight ahead for the first down.

You can see that the entire backfield was drawn away from the planned run, including TT's man along the sideline. #93 (Mike Blanc) caused Lee to run north south which soured the play. Every other receiver was running away (to the right side of the field for a QB running left) from the play.

Can't blame that play on anyone except the HC on OC for getting them into that desperate (6 yard dash for Lee) to begin with.

The tall Tolliver was going to run a quick slant in. Notice how Lee is looking for Tolliver the whole time. Once the CB disrupted the play, Tolliver was left with trying to block for Lee with his back. Tolliver had no time to do anything, and neither did Lee. Lee had to start running well before the count of three. It seems like bad offensive line play was the root of the problem, not Lee or Tolliver. The quick slant was what the coaches came up with considering how badly the offensive line was getting beat.

Based on the line play, LSU should have been rolling out or trying to run the ball around the ends for most of the second half. Also, LSU should have had two running backs in the whole half for maximum protection.

The more I watch it, I think the biggest problem was TT quit. When he made the cut, he looked like he was being held, but he should've seen the middle of the field was open and kept running, to at least clear the DB out. Basically, just a giant clusterfrick

Another inexplicable coaching meltdown, this time following a full time out.

Deal with it.

If it was so fricked up then why did we eat the TO or 2 that we had remaining !

Is the rule in College that you cannot call back to back TOs ?

Must have been some type of deception.

The whole time, I'm yelling call a to, call a to which quickly turned into run Jarrett run !

Natural reaction for a coach once the team has lined up. It is a penalty if someone steps one the field the runs back off after the team is lined up. THe coach grabbing him is instinct until he sees for sure the player is supposed to go out there.

between Miles/Crowton/Gonzales, thats probably close to 5mil in salary and they cant organize a 4th down play with 11 players is pathetic.

If this was true, wouldn't that mean the play was designed for Tolliver?

The fact that Tolliver barely attempted to run a route leads me to believe the fake confusion thing isn't true.
