Didn't we have another timeout we could've taken? Or were we saving it for the Bama game?

Can you call consective timeouts. I know you can't in NFL but don't know about college

The more I watch it, I think the biggest problem was TT quit. When he made the cut, he looked like he was being held, but he should've seen the middle of the field was open and kept running, to at least clear the DB out. Basically, just a giant clusterfrick

This is what I saw as well. IMO, it was clearly meant to be a quick slant to TT. TT looks like he's held, so he gives up on the route and JL was hung out to dry. He had absolutely NO OTHER OPTION on that side of the field but to run.

It's the ClusterFuk offense at it's finest. We all know it very well. We've been running this same offense since 2008. There is a reason this Offense is so bad. The OC is such a Genius that nobody else can understand his madness.

That was definitely a trick play.

They were trying to fake confusion to fool AU dbs but they stayed on assignment. Now whether it was designed for JL to run or just to leave an unassigned wr, I can't tell from that replay. It would have been more effective for RS to have to run all the way across to TT, and TT do a better acting job to try to sprint to the side line then stop. It could have worked, but once the dbs lined up on assignment they should have either called time out or audibled a back up play.

Better yet, just let our bigger faster receivers run their routes and Lee get the ball to them. I think that would have been the higher percentage play, and also what worked against UT and UF.

Either way, pretty dismal reflection on the coaching staff.

You should watch that play again. Gonzales is physically stopping RS from entering the game. RS was not the one that did not know he should be in the game. Gonzales is the one who did not know the play.

Was it BG? I couldn't tell. If it was, then that really should end all of this talk about him being th next OC for good.

I posted before, read this again. I think anyone would have been grabbed instinctively.

quote:

Natural reaction for a coach once the team has lined up. It is a penalty if someone steps one the field the runs back off after the team is lined up. THe coach grabbing him is instinct until he sees for sure the player is supposed to go out there.
