You are the worst matchup in the SEC for my Dawgs, just too physical a running game for us. I would rather play Alabama or A&M than LSU in the regular season.

Mett looks a lot smoother this season and the running game will open up play action opportunities for him. The only hope we have in limiting the passing game is his lack of mobility and a fall off in your receivers this year. We will definitely have some success against your defense because we have a lot diversity and weapons to throw at any defense. That isn't a knock on your defense, I have just never seen a better offense at UGA than this one. Our OL will just have to play better than they did at Clemson and give Murray some time because we may have to just outscore you in a shootout as I don't see any defensive answers for your running backs.

That's relative. I think overall, from what I have seen to this point, I would give a slight edge to Bama's defense generally speaking. HOWEVER, against A&M, purely from a scheme standpoint, I like LSU better. I also like LSU better in that by the time they play A&M, that defense won't be considered "young" anymore.

There are still question marks for all three teams due largely to who they've played. Here's What I think:

Alabama - Defense is going to be very good, but definitely beatable. Offense is going to be fine and the o-line is going to get better by the time LSU plays them. I can't say if they genuinely looked GOOD yesterday or if that was just a product of the fact that A&Ms defense is horrible.

A&M - The defense is horrible. That is now a known. They sucked with all of their starters, they sucked against weaker teams, they sucked against a good team. They suck.
Offense will go as JFF goes. If he gets hurt, their season is over. LSU will need someone with size ready to deal with the big arse tight end or it will be a long day for the defense in TS.

Tigers - The passing game is very good. There were a few passes that Mett has gotten away with that a better defense would have made him pay for, but that could be said of any QB. Impressed with the passing game. As for the running attack, Hill is a difference maker and both the run and the pass will need to be respected. My guess is that the teams with the horses to do it will blitz the hell out of us and play the run on the way to the QB. I've seen enough so far to think that the o-line and the quick passing game are up to the task.

Defense looks good. Still question marks. It's hard to tell what we have because they have played so many young guys, and that's not a bad thing. They will be fine at the end of the season, and they will control their own destiny, even if they lose to UGA. The UGA game is the one that scares me because the remaining questions on defense need to be answered in the less than two weeks. On thatone, though, I'm not sure that UGA's D can stop LSU, so it could be a track meet. If LSU wins that one, I like them to run the table.

that's about how I see it likely going.

what's funny, I can swap UGA and LSU in your post and it still makes sense (to me anyway)

Second year in a row that Manziel has exposed Bama.
If LSU is going to duplicate that performance, Mett better be working on his escape tactics.

LSU and Bama both have some inexperience in their secondary. Whoever gets it fixed will probably win the game.

And I am sure they saw weaknesses in us as well. Again, we have to take it week to week. As far I am concerned, Auburn is the toughest game right now.

I think Bama's and our defense are about the same.

What we have will be a McCarron/Yelder vs. Mett/Hill matchup. The game will likely turn on which of those pairs have the better day. McCarron won yesterday because he threw no pics...he's good at that. He has the edge because he is more mobile that Mett. And Bama has a wussy schedule...they'll be less wracked out.

Georgia any way you cut it. It'll take a lot out of both teams.

Or Florida twice..The east is a mess and it is hard to say who is going to come out of there. 1 game at a time..next up Auburn.

Yeah ok. Bama's D is better than ours and they just gave up 42.

And you're telling me an LSU D is going to give up 50, against a team that we already know how to corral schematically? Care to bet on that?

Not for certain, but my assertion stands.

Not really. They hung 500 yds on Miami, they just turned it over with unfortunate turnovers. Turnovers are easier to fix than simple futility in moving the ball.

What about the part where we already locked down JFF last year, and the game is still in Tiger Stadium? D is going to give up 50 in that situation?

Yeah, ok. Another way to look at it is that Bama's D may be "better," but they didn't know how to stop JFF last year or yesterday. We did stop him last year. LSU has the goods schematically whereas Saban doesn't. JFF doesn't make a couple of unforced errors and they give themselves a great chance to win that game yesterday.

We haven't had a chance to really be exposed. We haven't played anyone. TCU is a decent team, but their offense leaves a lot to be desired.

We'll find out a lot at UGA. They are the most balanced offense we'll face and one of the best in the nation.

LSU WILL not give up more then 31 points to any team they play this year. LSU will stop JFF this year at home like we did last year and we will beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. If we win our SEC opener and leave Athens with a W look for LSU to be 12-0 this year and having to play Georgia in the SECC
