We played a great first quarter last night then 2 quarters of uninspired, sloppy football. Rotated a lot of guys. I think we still have a lot to clean up on both sides of the ball and haven't put 4 quarters together yet.

Did like that we threw the football around a bit.

Careful, I remember people saying that about LSU after the WVU game a couple years ago. While Bama didn't look stellar, they will be improved down the stretch.

What about the part where we already locked down JFF last year, and the game is still in Tiger Stadium? D is going to give up 50 in that situation?

I don't think we're gonna give up 50, but last year is not this year. Schemes don't work exactly the same with different players. We sent some studs to the pros last year on D. Seven players from the D last year were drafted (including two in the first 20 picks). We could end up having a very good D, but we've played nobody yet.

I'm glad we're in Tiger Stadium against him though.

Roger. Last year.

All I'm saying is that punk at QB is talented and A&M's offense can hang 40-50 on anyone if they get rolling. We've had one decent and two not so decent teams get into a rhythm on us so far this season. If the Aggies do it, they can score three TDs in a hurry.

Second year in a row that Manziel has exposed Bama.
If LSU is going to duplicate that performance, Mett better be working on his escape tactics.

A) we don't have to copy Bama, we beat them before with JFF. Bama tried to copy LSU, just don't have the secondary to do it (LSU needs help there too)

B) didn't see much pressure on McCarron; LSU's line might be better than Bama's currently. They went through their growing pains last year after losing both starting tackles, Bama is in the midst of it. So Mett's escape tactics aren't crucial.

agreed. eliminating big plays and being on the + side of turnover margin (i.e. with TAMU that means forcing JFF to throw into bad situations) change the game with TAMU. That goes for every game, but is especially important when you're facing the Scrambling Proactive Commercial.

the team to beat in the sec is georgia. i think everyone already knows this. the REAL problem is that we will have to beat them TWICE.

Somebody on the SEC Rant posted that Bama basically clinched a BCS bowl spot yesterday by beating A&M. After taking a look at their schedule, I tend to agree.

i reiterate, the only thing we've seen from this team is that it's loaded with talent as usual, and Cam has Mett looking better and airing it out against crap teams.

I have high hopes but that's all they are is hopes. Would I be shocked if things were to gel and we were to make it to the SECCG? no. but I also wouldn't be super shocked if we were to lose to UGA, UF, aTm, and Bama.

People who are making bold predictions right how are just taking a chance to be able to pull up their thread later and say, "I told you so." weak.

look A&M is giving up an average of 250 a game rushing yardage. 250 a game rushing against rice and sam huston and a weak Bama oline.

Wow they are bad really bad on D. Do you really
beleave they are better on D then LSU.

Bama lost a ton on D they had five starting seniors last year as I remember. Big D linemen their corners and safties.

Ryno based on what? have you seen Auburns O?
they barely beat Moo State. I think they scored 24
points wow so Moo state is better then us on D?

Ole Miss D gave up a ton to a freshman vandy QB
Texas O is Very bad. I think Ole miss gave up over 400 yards to vandy.

Both our corners were on the All freshmen SEC team. Mills was on the freshman all american team last year. Their backups Robinson and white are incredible. Our Linbackers are deep and experienced Alexander was a starter last year before being injured Borrow was a starter.

Rasco has played lights out, so has Allen and Ego
freak is being double teamed Loston when not injured has played great.

So why are we so weak?

Sometimes you get exposed when you play good teams. This hasn't happened to LSU yet cause we haven't played a good team yet. If it isn't going to happen then our defense will have to improve. Look what Texas Tech's defense did to TCU only giving up 10.

No-- perhaps a little better than Bama and better to much better than A&M.

Will agree or disagree after Georgia game. If we can slow down Georgia's running game we are in good shape. So far its been a fun season--offense looks legit--still need 3rd WR.

I don't think we will know how we stack up until we play Georgia. I like Mett's poise and accuracy. If we can protect him, I like our chances.

I'm not so sure Bama was exposed as there really is no comp to think what he did can be reproduced by anyone else. JFF has a career day with 6-7 freakshow scrambles out of the grasp (despite being well contained) and completes multiple jump balls to a prototypical 6-5 1st round draftpick in waiting NFL receiver. Those plays accounted for 60%+ of the yards yesterday.

LSU can't use that same plan as they cannot reproduce JFF and the pace TA&M operates at on offense which tends to distort game stats compared to what we're used to. What you can take away as an LSU fan is that Mett might be able to take his shots deep, but it's not going to be from scrambling around for 6-8 seconds

In contrast, I think Alabama gave LSU a pretty good roadmap how to play TA&M as we have pretty similar skillsets/talent. If LSU wins more of those scrambling plays and jump balls and plays well on offense they will win by 2-3 TD's like it looked like we were until a fumble on the 1 with 7 minutes left started a mess.

I'm looking forward to another great UA-LSU game with a more "normal" pace to it. I do not like games that look like the WAC
