Doesn't matter. I can see us getting by A&M and Arkansas. The game in Tuscaloosa is the big one.

Whats the point? Moral victory?

The point is to win it all.

Of course, LSU has been playing football now for 120 years, and we claim three titles.

3.

Does that mean that the remaining 117 years of football have been total failures? There was no enjoyment, nothing to be gained out of the experience of having watched those teams compete?

Our biggest problem now is that of those 3 titles, 2 have been won in the lifetimes of our youngest and increasingly more vocal fans.

Up until 2001 (which is really when the expectations began) those of us who grew up watching a solid but unspectacular program found tons of things to enjoy about the program. They are WHY we are still fans, and in most cases are why many of the current younger fans were brought into the fold in the first damn place by your parents...because for most of us winning titles sure as shite wasn't what kept us coming to the stadium.

I want to run the table and win titles as much as ANY LSU fan...but thankfully I have a perspective built on the time spent becoming a fan when titles were a hope but not considered a birthright. I'm also able to recognize that as much as it stings that our former coach is at one of our most hated rivals and doing the unprecedented, that it's just that...it's unprecedented! It's precisely BECAUSE he's doing something akin to what John Wooden did at UCLA in the 60's and 70's that I'm not looking to run coaches out of town or jump off a fricking bridge. Under any other circumstances and at any other time, this current run by LSU would be lauded. I'm not going to pretend it still isn't simply because BAMA has been better, because other than those dickbags there's not one other program over the course of the past 13 years I'd be interesting in trading with, and no one I'd trade the next 5+ years with either.

If winning games and being in the hunt as much as we have this past decade plus is not enough to keep you happy, or unless you'll only be happy is we too start winning at BAMA's pace or better, then it's time to concede that you will never be happy and move along and find something more certain of what you define as success to fill your time.

And yes, I know...too long.

True.

UCLA, Stanford, and Texas Tech will all lose.

Clemson could lose too.

Your expectations are way too high! Lsu will loose to BAMA and A M. Our defense is young and not getting better. Miles will loose the game for you if it turns in to a close game.

S. Carolina & Oklahoma have a chance for the upset. The rest should win easily, even though UCLA might have a slim chance.

Clemson could lose to Maryland
Texas Tech could lose to Oklahoma
Oregon could lose to UCLA
UCLA should lose to Oregon
Mizzou should lose to USCe
Ohio St could lose to Penn St
Stanford could lose to Oregon St

VA Tech Oklahoma would jump ahead.

Realistically, I see 3 top 10 upsets this week.

Anyone else think it's weird that we are like the only team in the top 25 to have played 8 games already? Strange how the bye weeks worked out.

Just the fact that we play Furman Prep will ensure that we don't sniff the top 10.

I don't see Lsu cracking the top 10 in the bcs ever again.

LSU always has to count on other teams losing to be ranked high. I wish we would just fricking win the games we play. Win them all and we'd be #1.

We'll likely move up a spot or two. Just win and place as well as we can.
