re: Sleep restriction for insomnia
Posted by Palomitz on 3/26/24 at 9:17 pm
I suffer from sleep disorder the past 2 years and it really sucks. A bad night with 3-4 hours sleep will make your new day miserable. And it probably gets worse with age (I'm 51).
I prob have some type of apnea problem. Went to the doctor last year and I was diagnosed with a term that I cannot re...
Why was the Mall of Louisiana even built ?
B/c malls were still going strong in the late 90's and Cortana was becoming plain and old. I think the decadence of malls started happening in the early 2010's. ...

I remember the last time I was at Cortana Mall was back in '97 to buy a VCR (I think it was at Sears). I paid $220 for it. Used it for a good 7 years....
re: Are cassette tapes making a comeback?
Posted by Palomitz on 2/25/24 at 2:41 pm
Elton John released his last album "The Lockdown Sessions" sometime in 2021 in LP, CD & cassette formats. I remember fans at the EJ Fan Club were bitchin' why bother buying in cassette format., nobody's buying that. Who's got a tape player nowadays?
Then the official EJ Store was selling the albu...
re: Is there a legit reason to be still using Fax machine
Posted by Palomitz on 2/21/24 at 6:46 pm
I remember around 2013 having to send a fax to Sallie Mae to send some documents and thinking at the time how antiquated faxes were. And that was over 10 years ago....

re: Any Louisianians (?) Store Their Bicycles Outside?
Posted by Palomitz on 2/10/24 at 9:47 am
I lived in a LSU dorm for 2 years. I used to ride my bike to classes. My bike would be locked in a bike rack outside next to the dorm building, under a tree. It would stay outside for an entire semester or months. Nothing ever happened to it, I don't remember even applying oil on the chain....
but Billy Joel’s voice has held up a lot better than Elton John’s voice for example
Yep, I watched Elton's concert from Dodger Stadium from a couple of years ago and he sounded terrible. He cannot sustain long phrases while singing anymore and he sounds like he forces to rush the l...

Billy Joel just released a brand new song after 30 year hiatus

Not bad for a 74 year old man still sounding fresh and crisp. Hopefully a new album will ensue.
River of Dreams (1993) was his last pop album that he released and a classical album (2001) followed but there were no lyrics.

Like: Weather, plenty of stuff to do, centrally located for air travel (opposite for road travel), culture, restaurants, relatively safe (where I live).
Dislike: Expensive (real estate/cost of living) and traffic....
