I didn't really get that vibe. He fully admitted he's a big Miles fan, but he wasn't complaining about the firing. He just said it was gutless to not answer questions.

Pat Forde and Brando have torn into the decision, but SVP seemed pretty reasonable and had a good bak and forth with Booger.

If LSU gets Herman or O wins big, then it will shut everyone up.

This is the biggest story right now. It will die down.

LSU's big problem last year was they got scared with all the backlash and got cold feet.

If they would have just stood their ground, and weathered the initial storm, we wouldn't have had to waste an entire year dealing with this shite.

I think it was the way svp said it. it was like he was intimating thay LSU was unreasonable for firing him bc of the success he's had here, forgetting about everything that got him in trouble last year. exactly how long is LSU supposed to hold on to miles and let him fumble around?

I didn't get that vibe from his convo with Booger. I thought he gave him a fair but pointed question - will it be hard to replace the level of success Miles attained in his career at LSU. Booger was probably a bit too callous in how easy he believes it will be to replicate Miles's overall results, but Booger was also coming at it from a salesman standpoint. He was laying on the LSU is the greatest place in the world approach pretty thick.

Good point.

Only six percent of Americans trust the media. There's a reason for that. To hell with their opinions. LSU did the right thing.

12 years longest tenured coach in sec.. So all the idiots like Brando and McGee can say U can't trust admin. But 12 years and a mulligan last November for their beloved coach is enough for any coach to see what time it is. I believe there is a long list of coaches who would look this way any time any year. If O
Does well give him another year or two and the $ aleva will save can go to the OC hire. Make a run at the best OC and make offer he can't refuse. If it doesn't work Lsu is still a top 5-10 job and will get a top shelf guy.. Any time any year. Lsu is a top destination and a sleeping giant

Van Pelt's condescending attitude towards LSU fans and their expectations was quite pathetic. He's close with Les and his bias showed.

LSU fans aren't just worried about the W's and they aren't expecting NC's every year. What they are expected is to see a team that improves over the course of the year and develops. A team that shows a semblance of being coached properly and isn't just a shite show with tons of talent.

Of course, Scott's little buddy Les whom he loves so much got called out for his refusal to change and his outright lies to the team, admin and fans about change. He promised significant change to this teams offense, and then turned around and basically gave a big FU to everyone but for some reason that is okay to do if you are Les and LSU can't stand up for itself.

I think the way he said it is an important distinction. He essentially said a new coach will have to bust their arse to turn in the same level of success that Miles attained on the field in his 11 years here, and he's right.

So the next coach will have to bust his arse to get two SEC titles in 11 seasons and maybe 1 NC with two losses?

Les' win number is impressive, but for so many wins, it is pathetic he had 2 SEC titles in 11+ seasons and only 1 NC.

Again, meaningless wins that result in no hardware mean nothing.

that question was completely out of line given the situation.

It was a legit question. What is different now than what happened last November?

The answer: Last November LSU had not been completely eliminated from the 2016 season CFB Playoff, and virtually eliminated from reaching the 2016 SEC Championship Game.

he did just fire our most successful coach ever

Who gives a frick? I don't give a shite if he was Bear Bryant. He was regressing, the program was going in the wrong direction.

If SVP and the rest of the media can't see that, frick em! They're just pissed to see Les gone because they won't get any material for their shows anymore.

This should have been done last year. It wasn't. That ship has been righted before it got worse.

He has 1 of lsu's 3 NC. I love how you football ignorant people act like winning NC are easy.

I like SVP as much as the next guy but I'll never be for giving the media their platform just to give the media their platform.

Alleva said that anytime you fire someone, these situations are always tough, especially when dealing with someone as great as Les miles. Period. No need to discuss anything in the past from that moment on. Get the ship moving forward.

I thought Alleva at least partially addressed it in his opening remarks. The question posed was re: the optics of a large buyout.

Maybe Alleva was just being "deceptively honest". Les Miles never answered any legit question in his time at LSU. He dodged every, single one of them.

He's wrong. Alleva doesn't owe the media jack shite on this issue. They'll bitch no matter what happenes. Let Miles have a little dignity, let coach O have his moment going forward. No reason to air dirty laundry.

SVP and the Sports Media are like a bunch of vultures waiting for something to die.

Miles is gone. He is no longer is sports. Focus on Missouri.
Good luck to Orgeron.

It doesn't do Les any good to have Alleva hash it out at a PC. Everyone knows why he is gone. The media wants it's story. If Ogeron wins out they will forget about Les and O will be the feel good story.
