SVP called out Alleva on Sportscenter

Said it was gutless to not answer questions about the firing.
I'm not big into the outside folks throwing out their opinions, but anything anti-Alleva is worth noting.

That is a question he will have to answer at some point.

yeah that was kind of chickenshit, I get wanting O to have his moment but come on

SVP is tight with Miles. Everybody knows why he got fired.

He's also laying into to Booger quite a bit as well. Booger is holding his own though.

That is what i thought the press conference was gonna be today. First part was answer questions about the firing of Miles then the 2nd part introduce Coach O and have him speak like they did.

Why does he need to answer questions about Miles? So the media can profit? It was painful and something that had to be done. Why let the media beat this to death. Let's move on and focus on the season. Answering question will lead to more questions and speculations. This is all distractions.

Seems like there would still be questions worth asking and answering though.

It was a legit question. What is different now than what happened last November? I don't think any of the media members at the press conference were going to try to grill Alleva for what he did, but he did just fire our most successful coach ever, he should at least answer the questions asked to him about it.

He's wrong. Alleva doesn't owe the media jack shite on this issue. They'll bitch no matter what happenes. Let Miles have a little dignity, let coach O have his moment going forward. No reason to air dirty laundry.

Alleva didn't want to admit publicly that he was cucked by F. King.

Answering why he fired Miles would come off as a Miles bashing session. He would have to harp on all of Miles short comings whether it is QB development, wasting talent, losing streaks to Bama and Arkansas I mean list goes on and on. Why throw dirt on his name now? He is gone.

Because @ssholes like him in the media were crucifying them for the thought of firing the most successful coach in LSU history even though the last few years was a downward spiral and showed no signs of improving. There were other reasons but part of that was public perception. And that totally changed after Wisconsin whenever they found out that LES MILES LIED TO HIS BOSSES whenever he told them he would change the offense and put in a more efficient passing game. He then changed jack sh*t and the media called Miles on it. I like SVP but Alleva is Miles boss and like anyone who is underperforming at a high paying job there will be consequences and frankly he doesn't have to answer jack sh*t. The decision was also voted on by the Board of Supervisors and was almost unanimous. So SVP can STFU and support Miles at his next destination.

It is well known that Joe Alleva is not much of a public speaker. He cracks under media scrutiny. I'm sure NOBODY involved with the firing of Miles wants this clown cracking under pressure in front of the media. It's the same reason he couldn't come out last year to squash the swelling of "public opinion pushed out by the media". It's a shame when you have an AD and Vice Chancellor who sounds terrible and bumbling behind the mic in front of the public. If the man can't be trusted to not screw it up in a press conference he obviously doesn't want to do, why in the hell is he still in such an important position? The answer is that he's a yes man only and can be made to do whatever the BOS and King want him to do when his strings are pulled. What a pitiful excuse for a representative of the university at this level.

Why make Miles look worse? You know as well as I that anything Alleva said would be bashed relentlessly by the talking heads.
Let Miles ride off without a bunch of booger flicking.

I thought Booger crushed it. I only wish he would have mentioned Miles' record vs. SEC teams in recent years. SVP kind of made it sound like it was just losing to Saban that got Miles fired.

all booger had to tell svp was this: if your employer warned you to that a change was needed, and you came back with no changes and your work suffered for it, what would you expect him to do? keep you around forever for people to make jokes about?

The media made LSU look like shite last year for trying to get a new coach. We all know the story and regret it didn't happen last year obviously. Im glad it was all about bringing positivity back to LSU. That's why the coaching change was made now. That wasn't the time to trash Les
