There was always an excuse. Mardi gras break, between semester, too many exams later in the week, too cold, raining, too nice outside to be indoors. Im glad lsu finally said enough is enough.

The student section was packed in 2009 which goes against his point of it being empty for several years before they moved it.

Think it was tape to look like Deon Sanders earrings. I remember as he would run down stairs students would bomb him with paper and it never phased him. Seem to remember before a game or at halftime the team presenting him with a warm up suit that the players wore.

No I didn't read your post because it didn't interest me. The student section was packed in 2009. The students filled that bitch up. There's an article written that season that praises the students for showing up "to the tune of over 2,700" for multiple games in a row.

Adrian Wintz is a terrible ambassador for the student section. For anyone who doesn't know, he's the weird guy in the front row with the purple and gold wig

Havent heard of 2 Legit in years. Could have used him last night running a lap around the PMac with his LSU flag. And for football games he was always first in line for the gates. Like 3-4 hours early, and would wear that inflatable LSU helmet.

Riiiiight. Sorry to hurt your feelings but the student section was not packed early on in the 2008-09 season. It wasnt packed until later on in the year. And like i said, before that it stayed pretty empty from 01-08 with the exception of a handful of games and the 2nd half of 06.

Made sense fiscally, but it has definitely hurt the atmosphere for big games in the PMAC. I never understood the configuration they ended up going with. You now have a behind the backboard area occupied by press, the student section, and Bengal Brass. Why not fill that whole area up for the student section? Move Bengal Brass to the area immediately behind the center portion of the student section. Move the press to the top corner. If attendance is looking down for a game, then move Bengal Brass back to where they are currently on a per game basis.
Would increase the volume of that lower student section portion, get the press row out of prime seats, and would account for poor attendance when/if it happens.

Since basketball doesn't play during finals week, the exam excuse is false. Your weather excuses are also false. Can't blame students who go home to their families for breaks.
Without students, there would be no LSU or LSU athletics.

That little story gave me a good laugh. That guy is a legend. He was there when my brothers were at LSU. Strangely enough, at some point, he became an umpire and did some little league softball games I went to for a family member. He gave the most emphatic calls. He was actually an excellent ump.
