Jesus christ people step away from the ledge. This is not the end of the world im as pissed as anyone. But we went 13-1 won an SEC championship and don't forget we did beat the great nick saban once this year. Sure we got embarrassed last night but all teams lose and we lost the national championship. The game that other teams would beg to be embarrassed at.

We played for it all and we lost but we were still there. We will be back and sooner rather than later

What died last night was the illusion that we want be sucking hind tit to Bama for a long time.

Winning the national championship this year with the schedule we played, the storylines, etc. Rather than becoming a piece of college folklore, we become yet another footnote in the "greatness of Saban".

The hope that we could actually rise above Bama as a program died last night.

It wasn't just that we lost. I could take it much better if LSU had played hard on offense. But it was how LSU lost, with little evidence of an offensive game plan or "want" to have one. And coaching that couldn't seem to get past the porch of indecision o a host of things, including what to do with a non-productive, unprepared, prima donna QB in this game.

Jesus y'all give me a break. What, our season is defined by Saban? Alabama? One game?
Bama was good but damn, if we had an offense we would have won. Period. The TD was on our gassed D. Even Vandy could have gotten a couple of field goals or a TD. We weren't the usual LSU O because 'somebody' puckers their buttocks up every time they play Bama (no, not a qb either). We played close to the same as last game, on D (thanks Chief).

I lost something, alright. Sometimes life is harder than it has to be, family problems, sick parents, kids not doing well, job stresses, taxes, house issues, etc... For me, LSU football has been that one thing I could take unequivocal joy in. I'm not stupid, and i know sometimes games are lost, but not like that. We got our nuts cut off, and now have to hear about it for the next year. I further know it wasn't me on the field so it wasn't MY performance, judgement, or preparation being judged, but LSU Football has been my happy place, and last night Coach Miles strangled it.

I'll go back to lurking on here...

It wasn't just ONE game. It was THE game. And we just witnessed the worst loss in LSU history, in context. Why? Because of an ongoing problem everyone with any sense could see a MILE away.

But I digress. I think it was so bad it jolted MANY fans back to reality. It's just a game. It's no longer FOOTBALL >>>> Everything else.

Good lord some of you need to take it easy. LSU is a very good program. The good news is that we might even have a better team next year with a better qb. I am glad that the JJ era is over, because I never could stand the way he played.

Wow, im sick about last night's showing, but to say bama or saban owns lsu or miles?? we've won two of the last three! hopefully what died last night was the "swagger" mentality, and we'll get back to flat out focus and HARD WORK, ready to lay the wood in 2012.

This.

Although many of us never held this idea. Mile$ was Forrest Gump to me on Sep. 26, 2005 when I saw him trying to call a time out after the ball carrier had gone out of bounds and the ref had signaled the clock to stop. And I've thought he was Forrest Gump ever since - and goodness hasn't he given us some brain dead gems along the way.

But he inherited a bunch of talent and he recruited more and he's won. Good for him - he's got a great record at LSU.

But many in the LSU fan base began to make him out to be more than he is: 1) a "great man" of tremendous "integrity." Really, who the frick actually knows this? 2) a sly genius. Please. He's won with talent, not coaching. 3) not interested in money. Double please, he's used every good year he's had - and Michigan's coaching problems - to up his contract several times.

We have the most embarrassing fan base ever. Yeah we should just roll over and let the great Lord Saban just destroy us since it is obvious we just can't keep up. We suck, we will never win again, Mett will be horrible, The Sky is falling! The Sky is falling!

I think the talent is there to win it all next year. I've just lost faith in the coaches to a degree. Oh and by the way if there was ever a "sky falling" moment, it was last night. You may have missed it. It was, in context, the worst loss in LSU history.

This is pretty much what I'm thinking. We have the talent. Do we have the coaching? I'm not seeing it.

We need to hope Mett is as good as we think he is, and that Miles won't screw him up somehow.

LC

ETA: And we need to hope that Gunner doesn't change his mind. After last night, I'd count this as a real possibility.

Its a bowl game. Nothing more. You've been watching so much ESPN and Deuce that you've been convinced that its an 'event' for LSU (we've already won 2 in the last 8 years) when it was actually a reward for teams that play well....nothing more (old school). Trust me, I live in Alabama and will hear it for months, but in the end they just heard it for months from Auburn fans (far worse for them). Do you really want to worship false idols like other teams?

Funny you asked that> Last night reminded me of when we beat Miami so bad in a bowl game. After that Miami was never Miami again. they has lost their swag. I hope that is not the case with LSU.

Go find your nutsack. You have surely misplaced it somewhere. I will tell you what died for me. The idea that LSU will ever have a mature, intelligent fanbase worthy of being called elite. You chicken littles and bitch-at-all-costs "fans" are a joke.

My opinion will not be popular today. I think CLM did a pretty good job all year. We got screwed, chewed, and tatooed last night but overall, it was a good season. We beat more ranked opponents than anyone, ever.

We owe some of last nights arse kicking to Ryan Perriloux and MLB. Our quarterback developmental progression has been playing catch-up since his early exit. These two boobs we were left with are done.

Next years schedule allows for Mett to be able to develop at a pace conducive to winning long term. He has had plenty of time to learn the play book. He carries himself as a leader on the field judging by the limited exposure we have had of him this year.

I am excited for next year and see our young guys progression building for the next five years.

Bama will still be tough and Saban is still a tool. They will, however, not look forward to coming to BR next year.
