Last time I heard Fine, was maybe 2 years ago and he was doing Denham Springs HS basketball games on some abstract station. I don't know Chad Blouin, but I've heard IRL he is the biggest blowhard douche in BR. Should fill Hawthorne's shoes perfectly.

I think one of Hawthorne's daughters had a Facebook war with the Blouin douche once .. There was a big thread on it on here ..

Henderson didn't work much more than that 10 years ago ..

He still did the news 8-10 times a week.

He did the sportscasts, that literally last 3 minutes each with a producer that writes them for you .. So he worked probably two hours a week total on that .. and did the Saints games .. Trust me, he didn't work THAT much more 10 years ago than he does today .. He has a sweet gig .. always has had one ..

Didn't Jim share the broadcast with Kevin ??? before Charlie Monogriff? can't come up with Kevin's last name, but I enjoyed Kevin's call or the middle 3 innings.

by Festus To be honest, I don't think anyone likes working with him either. He hates to be corrected, and never concedes, even when he's wrong.

Are you stupid on purpose?

This is bs an outright lie.

Remember Larry Matson ?? He did basketball in 1982 .. He was Henderson's longtime sidekick with the Saints .. He's damn good .. Wonder if he's still around ?

I saw Larry Matson last week at a St. Amant baseball game. He was doing a webcast of the St. Amant/Catholic High game. He is definitely long in the tooth, but he was still great to listen to. I recall thinking he sounded better than the LSU guys before I realized it was him. Agewise he looked to be at least mid 70s.

JMHO but I can't stand Rollins nasal tone. His baseball knowledge is spot on but I hate listening to him in anything other than baseball, and even then...

I wouldn't mind Rollins over Hanagriff, but he works for the SEC network now I know, not sure how that would fit into a radio role as well

Ideally they would go outside with this hire

I used to listen to Hannagriff when he had a show on WIBR in the late 90's, following (or preceding, I forget) Jimmy Ott's show. I liked the content of the show, but Jesus Christ he was a monotone goofy bastard. I haven't heard him in years, but the idea of him as the Voice of the Tigers? No thanks.

I still remember him saying something to the effect that "I'm hearing from multiple sources that the next head coach of the LSU Tigers will be Nick Saban from Michigan State" when that news was breaking. Think I heard it there first and had to go use the dial up internet to find out more about this guy.

POST OF THE YEAR! That sums up all Local Sports talk Radio in Baton Rouge. However, Every time I hear Kevin Mawae I really enjoy hearing his insight that he gives that no one else even has the knowledge to look for Mawae needs to have the radio headset on for Football not for play by play though. He gives a lot of good insight

The GIF of the guy throwing up didn't make it

If any of the existing radio guys make it, it goes to show that you can get a job and just work your way up based on years of being in a company. Just wait it out boys, Don't upset anyone, Don't ask the tough questions in ANY press conference, just wait it out boys! Be a good little jock sniffer and we will let you on radio! Keep the tough questions in your bag or we will send you to New Orleans!

Personally, I like Lynn Rollins. I really do.

Maybe from my days in Alexandria, I can only envision him as the radio voice of the Alexandria Aces. He's much too "gimmicky" to be the voice of the LSU Tigers.

I think Lynn Rollins would be in way over his head as Jim Hawthorne's replacement.

I really hope it's not Hanny
He would be terrible for basketball

I thought Alleva said it would be one person for all 3 jobs.

I bet Hultberg applies. He's always wanted play by play or color for the Hornets/Pels instead of sideline guy.

Does Ron Franklin have a job? I know he's a sexist a-hole but he was a damn fine broadcaster, and he narrated an LSU vhs tape once so...connections.

Edit: He's also 71.
