Id almost rather look at him than listen to him.

Hawthorne said it was 4-2 then 5-2 then 4-2 then 5-2 within the span of about 10 minutes in game three against Bama. On top of that I honestly don't even think he likes calling games anymore. Completely miserable the whole game. I appreciate his contributions to LSU and his voice was a part of my childhood but holy shite I'm glad we're getting someone new.

I honestly don't care who calls football or basketball. They're all televised. Just so long as we have someone with a working knowledge of the game of baseball that isn't senile and miserable I'm good. See: Patrick Wright.

Yea he also said it was 7-7 Saturday vs Bama when it was actually 4-4.

Jim is losing it. Or should I say lost it a long time ago.

It's not certain that the guy taking over will do all sports.

Have one do Football and Basketball and one do Baseball.

Dumb idea, that's why he is refered to as the "voice of the tigers" genius.
Alleva said guy was going to do all sports.

Someone posted the official job posting last week and Hanagriff meets very few of the requirements. The person has to have experience in all 3 sports on the ncaa level.

No. He doesn't have a good radio voice. It's important.

Q: Jim Hawthorne has been on the mic for 35 years as voice of the Tigers. You guys are looking to replace that spot after next year's basketball season. I know you're on the board along with out vice president and market manager Gordy Rush along with some others. What's going into the next search for the voice of the Tigers?

A: Well, we're looking for someone that can represent LSU not just with their voice, but out in the community. Someone that has energy and will be passionate about their job, they'll be the true voice. They'll do football, basketball and baseball just like Jim has done so marvelously well for 35 years. There won't be any shortage of applicants I'll tell you that much, there is tremendous interest in the job. We'll do the best we can to get a great voice and a great person that will represent LSU for us at the highest level.

Hanagriff takes over, Ott moves into Hanagriff's radio slot. Confirmed by a few sources in BR.

He's great what he does, but would be a disaster as the PBP. Like others have said, he sounds very uncomfortable calling big plays.
