Let's just be real, the kid plays on a shite show of a team with a poor head coach. Does he have areas to work on to make his game better? Of course. But this kid is averaging 19pts/game, 12rbs/game, and 6as/game going into last night. If this guy was on any other, realistic, team in the country (Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Iowa, Oklahoma, Villanova, Mich. St, Providence, Purdue, Indiana, Baylor, Texas, etc) he wouldn't be getting near the criticism he's gotten this year. LSU, as a team, sucks. Let's be real. They're good at only 1 thing, running the floor. If teams let them run the floor they have a shot at winning. If they don't, then they don't stand a chance. They suck against zone D and suck running zone D. They suck at shooting free throws and generally suck at shooting altogether. Sure they can hit 3's here and there, but consistently knocking down jumpers, they're terrible. Let's be real. Ben Simmons is going to be a superstar in the NBA. But Ben Simmons won't win a single March Madness game at LSU, and that's not his fault.

He will be by far better in the nba than at LSU and he will be let loose. I like jj but he will be coached a whole lot better than he is now

1) Skip is an idiot and a shock jock
2) Ben is not overrated. He is horribly under coached.

Skip Bayless is correct in this instance.

Besides john Wall and some true big men that don't play more than 10 ft from the basket can you give me some examples?

Ben is overated... And yes he is not coached as good as he could be,,,, But its NOT JJ's fault that Ben takes 10 mins off in some games.....

Yes I know...Durant is a perimeter player that can shoot and BS can't...Durant is also a better ball handler

Pick the NBA guy he compares too then

plenty of the 6'6"/7" size slasher type players that get drafted high every year

hell Justice Winslow last year had no jump shot. Andrew Wiggins wasn't a great jump shooter. Jabari Parker. The list goes on.

Do you not think that Simmons will have a jump shot within a few years in the NBA? Because I do. And so does every NBA GM out there.

They are not drafting him based on what he can do now.

They dont THINK he will. They HOPE he will. It will have to improve a long way to even be average. Nothing better to remedy that then insanely upping the competition your playing against in less than 8 months.

He's overrated in that his ability(or want) to impact a game isn't as great as some think right now. But, I don't think he's overrated as a prospect.

The NBA player you think he will become. You said he is no Durant. I say he is no LJ. I guess I am asking for you to tell me what NBA player he reminds you of...one that is 6'-10" and can't post up a PF/center in the NBA and can't hit a mid range jumper.

well this isn't fair because I think he will eventually be able to do all of these

I think he could be a better Derrick Odom or Chris Bosh type player
