My thoughts also.

Once the players lawyered up wouldn't the time frame be dependent on the BRPD working with the lawyer?

Let me ask you, if Jefferson is eventually cleared and it is determined that he wasn't "kicking" anyone, will you come here and eat crow?

My position is based on national media reports.
I owe no apologies to Jefferson if it is established that someone else kicked the "Marine" in the head. If Jefferson kicked ANYONE in the head he will not play another down for LSU.

there will be a large group claiming cover-up and pay-offs...that's the problem, much of the damage has been done.

People need to understand that right now the only account of the brawl has come from the people filing the charges.

i just don't see how they can be charged without physical evidence(video, police witness, etc).

sounding like the Casey Anthony story - needing empirical evidence to convict.

Generally neither gets charged because its a fricking fight that both participated in.
If there were enough evidence, wouldn't the DA have charged the battery 2 regardless of complaint?
Isn't it possible they feel there's a lack of evidence to proceed with that charge?

How do you think criminal justice worked before video was invented? People have been charged, arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death for over 1000 years without independent witness testimony, much less video.

Which are based on one side's account.

Do you think its remotely possible that Jefferson is being fingered because he is the only one whose name and face the "victims" know?

People also didn't have electricity. No physical evidence works for the defense.

I think they would've already.
Not much more evidence to be gathered if the Team isn't talking.

Fractured vertebrae clearly is evidence, and we have Stone directly stating today that there are 2 potential charges of 2nd degree battery and 2 of 1st degree battery, so unless he's openly lying, your info is wrong.

It is only evidence (if true) that he has fractured vertibrae. With out a proveable link to whatever happened Friday morning it is meaningless. Case in point: Casey Anthony trial.

This is getting worse bt the day. I keep waiting for it to be lead story on ESPN. If he kicked that kid in the head, Les may need to cut him lose or bench him. Looks like he is going to be charged.

What do we do when ESPN banner reads "Four LSU players including starting QB Jefferson arrested for second Degree battery this afternoon."

Looks like that is where this is headed,.... unless some TAF boosters can persuade them to drop charges. (In exchange for a big check, paying for their medicals, etc no doubt)

BTW would that be an NCAA violation? I only have Volumes 1-45 of the rules and I am missing the other 200.

TIFWIW- Law firm of a friend is handling the case for the plaintiffs. They feel the case is "airtight", which is not necessarily a surprise. They would not say which player was at risk of the most serious charges.

It is in the best interest of the alleged to talk the police asap.
Hardly ever true, if at all. Anyone actually accused of any crime should never, EVER talk to the police without a lawyer. Only STUPID people talk to the police alone when they are suspects or accused. And yes, innocent people can be stupid.

We all sit in a warm bath, pour a goblet of Tuscan wine and slit our wrists. I can think of nothing worse in this entire world than an unflattering story on ESPN. Can you? The world revolves around ESPN and if they do a hit piece about you, life is just NOT worth living.
