They should have just come forward instead of lawyering up and hiding behind a defense. I understand having a lawyer there but this thing took place on Thursday...little late for a general statement

You are aware that the burden of proof is on the prosecution, not the defendant, and that the defendant is not obliged to talk to the police under any circumstances? "Hiding behind a defense?" I would hope so. You're damn right that's what I would be doing.

LOL...nah. This, to me, means that they don't have enough for warrants. Had charges not been filled they would have been done with this on Saturday or whenever.

People need to understand that right now the only account of the brawl has come from the people filing the charges.

How are you so sure about that? It has been reported from the BRPD themselves that multiple witnesses not directly involved in the altercation (i.e. separate from the "victims") have come in and given their side too.

Just because the players' side hasn't been given doesn't mean outsiders haven't done so.

I thought there were like 10 other witnesses - besides the guys who were beat up?

Maybe I dont understand the legalities of it all, but if charges have been filed... why are we not privy to what charges on which people... why would 'charges' not be in the public domain.

It is in the best interest of the alleged to talk the police asap.

How so? Do you see this as another Duke lacross type situation?

The football players have a right to cousel. They should rely on the advice and speak only when advised to.

If the evidence presented by the media is correct there is PLENTY of evidence for obtaining arrest warrants for both simple battery (a misdemeanor) and aggravated battery (a felony).
If JJ kicked anyone (Marine or not) and is arrested for felony battery it seems impossible for Miles to keep him on the team.

"The warrants are coming, they are not going to talk"

This from the BRPD

Also a comment about JJ that I can not relay at this time.

There is that. But there are also others saying that JJ wasn't there when the fight occurred. Its he said/she said.

Which is enough for an arrest warrant. And I'm guessing by now the police have found some other witnesses as well.

i just don't see how they can be charged without physical evidence(video, police witness, etc).

People are sent to death row on eyewitness testimony alone. It happens all the time.

Whomever gets arrested for a felony in this case will not play a down of LSU football. Probably misdemeanor as well would be my guess.

Not being an arse here, but where are you getting this from?

All I've seen was that there were a shite-ton of people who saw everything.

Your #'s certainly make it look a little better for the players.

Wouldn't the DA pursue a felony charge (battery 2) regardless?
