What was stupid was for the Bama player to remove his helmet and run off the field with a live ball rolling around.
sure, but come on. can you really blame the kid? he wasn't taunting. he thought the game was over.

I submit, respectfully,(I don't want no stinkin reprimand)that had the shoe been on the other foot. i.e. Bama kicking, Tenn blocking the ball, the blocker running off sans helmet, that yellow flags would have been everywhere. Bama would have had another kick. Anyone disagree with this?

I believe that was the same crew that was recently suspended...at least that's what I heard on "The Fastest Hour."
The crew that was suspended did not officiate the 2006 Auburn game.

Many of us have thought this for years now. Interesting to see coaches start to call them out now. 'Bama has pretty much been the benefactor for some time now

Need I remind everyone of the 06 LSU-Auburn game.

How about the "No Calls" in the SEC?
The one that stands out the most is the helmet to helmet contact in the Alabama vs South Carolina game when SC's top Wide Receiver Moe Brown was knocked unconscious. The helmet to helmet rule was introduced to protect players from serious injury. The rule does no good if the refs don't throw the flag.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

How is blowing a defensive return for TD > blowing a fake punt? Both are football.
Because the coach didn't tell the QB to throw a pick six.

i know its a rule, but god that would have been a terrible way for bama to lose the game.
with all the talk about keeping the refs out of the game but then get pissed about them not throwing that flag is just not right.
i hate bama as much as anyone, but the game was over. throwing a flag for him celebrating a game winning fg block would have just been wrong.
i won't hold it against anyone that disagrees with me. just my personal feelings that he should not have been flagged on that play.
Alabama alertly recovered the blocked FG attempt. This essentially ended the game. However, the flag should have been thrown. Had UT recovered behind the line of scrimmage after attmepting a FG on 3rd down, UT would have deserved another untimed play, IMHO.

Don't doubt Alabama's got a fox/elephant in the hen house in Birmingham. Slive is pathetic and is probably on the payroll. I'm glad to see SEC coaches taking a stand no matter what the consequences, even if it is Kiffin. We now have Mullen, Petrino and Kiffin crying foul. Who can remember 3 coaches doing this in a season. I can't.
Everyone in the country knows that Alabama is the dirtiest program in college football, bar none. Was under Bear Bryant and continues to this day under Saban, i.e. new recruiting Saban rule. Winning is all that matters to the rednecks in Alabama and they and their boosters will do whatever it takes no matter how much cheating they have to do to claim another national championship. I have to cover that Godforsaken place for my territory and I've never seen such creepy-arse people in my entire life, especially in northern Alabama. Frightening is putting it lightly. Alabama football is ALL that they have. It's really sad when you see these people. They're as ignorant as ignorant gets on many levels. I didn't believe it until I had to start going there for work but every stereotype of the southern redneck that you've heard of can be found there in great numbers.
The first thing the SEC needs to do is to get the SEC office out of the state of Alabama. That will be the only way to begin to make the SEC office legitimate. As long as it remains there, we're in for this crap year after year. Get Slive out of there as well, he's in the tank.

this happens across the country too. always has.

Fatass Cody taking his helmet off would have had no impact. The flag for removing a helmet is a DEAD BALL Unsportsmanlike Conduct no matter when it occured. Does not matter if it was during the play, the penalty is enforced as a dead ball penalty meaning after the play. Since the clock read 0 the game was officially over and the penalty would not have resulted in a replay of the down... the game was over.

Yeah, I do. Even if your scenario were to unfold, Alabama would not get another kick. Sorry.

you mean the top defense in the SEC that did not get a holding call until the 7th game of the season?
do you really think no one held our guys until that point?
that is pretty stupid on your part. did you just pull a year out of your arse?

Tennessee (3-4, 1-3), which entered the game as one of the least-penalized teams in the nation, was flagged eight times for 68 yards, while Alabama was charged with just one 10-yard penalty.
This was all I needed to read to convince me. One penalty! 60 minutes of football and ONE penalty? Come on!![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrolleyes.gif)
