Yeah control is the issue. I'm OK if they string some singles together. Eventually they'll hit it to somebody. Walks and then a blast are what will kill us.

guys. We just made it to the CWS Final Series with our 3rd starting pitcher only able to pitch 1 inning. Then, Florida had to use their best pitcher just to make to the Championship series. THEN, Kramer actually got base hits.

3 innings and 1 run for Reynolds, based on how much he's pitched this year... is GREAT.
Then you gotta figure CPM is planning to go Beck, Bain, Bush, (maybe not in that order) Newman and then hopefully Hess to close it out.
But I just don't see us winning this game without 4 of our 5 best arms being available.
Our bats and defense are going to have to be stellar.... and maybe we'll need some walks and errors by UF to help us out.

IMO if we see Hess tonight I'd consider that a very good thing, because I don't see him pitching unless it's to get a save. He could probably use the rest, but not so much that he's completely off the table.

UF is a lite hitting team. That said -- they are opportunist. Give them free bases-- they will take advantage of that. If we Play good defense & throw strikes--we will win this first game. I really think Reynolds will be ON.
