I know you want the better glove there I just didn't realize the he was that much better to make the switch again.

One is a shortstop, the other is a catcher.

Everyone can argue who should replace Beau, if anybody.IMO Beau rarely performs in crucial situations.Check his average since the SEC Tourney. He did get a hit in the super on a hit and run but he knew he had to make contact so for once he hit an outside pitch to the right side.He tries to pull everything and either rolls over on the outside pitches or swings at the offspeed outside pitch in the dirt.I know he tries as hard as anybody but he simply can't get the job done.I'd DH Coombs and put Slaughter at first.

Reid should've had more ABs this yr in my opinion. Was pretty solid last yr.

Do you know how many at-bats he was given this year?

Very few. Give him an opportunity and I bet he steps up.

We only have a handful of games left at most. How many at-bats is it going to take for him to step up?

ETA: He has had 22 at bats this year. That's probably more than he would get from now until the end of the tournament as the starting DH.

Here's exactly what you said, don't tell me you were flattering the kid.

Reid gets one roll over, garbage time hit and people want to suck his dick.

Those were almost all of his hits last year too.

You were trying to minimize what he did last season to make a point. It's obvious.

The fact that you said this after it's been discussed multiple times among my close friends has me laughing so fricking hard right now.

I'm not minimizing anything. Many of his hits were in garbage time. That's a fact. We joked about it so much last year that someone kept track of the hits he got when it didn't matter for the outcome. Almost all of those were singles too.

All that aside, he's looked terrible in ABs this year. UGA made him look like a fool and PM pretty much said "that was enough" especially at a time when you still had Romero, Wokey, and Coomes as a DH option.

Beau Jordan also set many offensive records in HS, and has been hitting 0.280 or better all season. He has hit successfully his entire life. I think his body of work speaks for itself, some are too short sighted to see that and make comments over the handful of unsuccessful at bats they selectively choose to dwell on. Good hitters get out 70% of the time at every level.

Means nothing for this year, same way that what Chris Reid did last year has little to do with this year.

Slide Romero into DH.

Maybe he can ignite his HR magic from last year over the next week before pitchers realize he can't hit an offspeed pitch?

Considering both the FSU and OSU pitchers fooled us nearly all game with their change up, probably not an option.

He reached base 42% of the time in SEC play, and we are to believe that was garbage time???? Come on, everybody saw the kid come in and fill a need, a big need, he hung in there, and scrapped and helped us get a national seed.

He batted cleanup 5 times and 5th in the order 11 times so Mainieri must have thought he was doing something right especially since he reached base in 26 straight games and had an 8 game hitting streak.

But like I said, he got beat out by a better talent (Smith) and never took advantage of the opportunities he had to win the DH position against righties or any pitcher for that matter. I do not think he should be DHing because he hasn't shown that much.

We agree about that, but I disagree strongly that somehow he was lucky or that he didn't hit in key spots because I saw him do it enough times to know that he was helping us win.
