Thing is, the "rule" in SEC QB play is that green, new to the program, teen age QB's have their struggles in this conference.

I really hope you're generalizing too much here. Maybe one of the two will be that "exception" that comes along every once in a while. We WILL be special if that happens and its not out of the realm of possibility.

You forgot Zach Lee as well. The last great QB at LSU was Bert Jones.

I don't think Zach Lee was officially on the roster. I did have high hopes for him, though. He use to jog in my old neighborhood. Great kid. loved LSU. Can't fault the him for taking a 5.25 million dollar signing bonus.

Should I add Gunner Kiel to the list. Maybe Jeremy Liggins?

He was. He was enrolled for classes, practiced with the team.

Nope, no one can. That's life changing money.

Best of luck to him.

It's just a lot of, underachieving, I guess.

My guess is that all recruiting is just a scientific wild arsed guess to begin with. Sure, scouts know talent at the Hi Skool level, but that doesn't always pan out in the big leagues...you can shine against inferior talent, but raise the talent level on opposite of the ball, then things change for that recruit...not sure I would call it underachieving, but just not as good as they were expectd to be...

I probably am, but I am concerned.

A thing both the kids have going for them is they dont have to be JM or CN like for LSU to be successful. They only have to help the team move the chains and not make or limit game changing mistakes.

Plus, we have Cam and LF. That has to help any LSU QB be more successful...hopefully!

I am too but feel much better after watching the spring game. The potential is there for sure and if we get any semblance of continuity out of our passing game, we can go along way without question.

IN CAM I TRUST!!!!

Isn't he the head coach? I thought it was up to him.

Who it is "up to" depends on the outcome for some. If something turns out to be successful, then the O/C or D/C or S/T or Rant is the reason. If something fails to be successful, it's cause of the HC.

Liggins would have unseated Jared Lorenzen as the Pilsbury Throwboy

Some people touched on it. While we get the perceived talent, it's most just a shite ton of misses. Jimbo could evaluate QBs (Russell, Perriloux, Flynn), and could coach them (see those three plus Manuel and Winston). Crowton, Miles, Krags can't.

I read an article about LSU's struggles at evaluating and developing QBs, which is piss poor and I love me some Les Miles, but his OCs and "QB coaches" have been horrible at this. What we are going to see is a shift. A shift in talent evaulation, and QB coaching. Cam wants Harris. Harris is his QB he went out and watched personally. There are a few guys here and a guy out of Florida next year that Cam really likes. The 8th grader that he sees potential in. Mett's drastic change from year one to two. Hell the stuff he implemented for the WRs last year made a HUUUGE difference and this was out of the mouth of guys like Beckham and Landry. You'll start to see stability at that position like with Richt and Bobo at UGA.

Bobo knows how to get the best out of his QBs. Even what they considered was the worst transition with Cox (statistically it was), would have been the second/third best QB play between 2008 and 2013 for us (although the 15 ints were horrid).

russell, flynn, & perrilloux would have been fine but he was immature, now metttenberger and harris.. i don't really see the problem.

the only problem was perrilloux getting the boot and having jj/lee in as fresh.. lee was efficient his senior season.
