I have the best memories of getting to the mailbox before Dad got home from work to get my grubby little hands on the weekly Tiger Rag issue. I couldn't wait to read the latest predictions, game recaps, season previews, and recruiting info.

Back in the 80's to mid 90's this was the only way, outside of the Advocate and the 5-minute sports segment on local news, to read about LSU sports.

I sure did, you just could not get enough info back in those days, now you get so much you can choke on it.

Yep, that was his thing. I was a kid and he'd tell me about recruits and where they were from. Good stuff.

I used to buy the SEC Preview magazines at the grocery store each August. Would have it read cover to cover in a few days.

I did. If it was a day or two late, I wasn't a happy camper.
